  1. current situation in my area Temp : 3.9°C Humidity: 64% Wind Speed: 14 KMH Wind Direction: NNW (340°) Barometer: 1001 mb Dewpoint: -2°C Heat Index: 4°C Wind Chill: 0°C Visibility: 11 km Just looking at the satellite image, and that bank of cloud in the atlantic seems to be moving in quicker than I though, some of it is in southwest ireland already. If it's moving this fast, is it possible for that front to hit us in the small hours tonight or first thing in the morning?
  2. thought the south of the NW had a better chance of snow than the north of the region?
  3. Well the thing is, its pretty balmy here and last night in the wee hours the airport reported 1C and it felt much warmer than that. Temp 4.3°C Dewpoint: -2°C Heat Index: 4°C Wind Chill: -0°C Visibility: 11 km Humidity: 64% Wind Speed: 19 KMH Wind Direction: N (350°) Barometer: 1000 mb If we are to see any snow, it seriously needs to cool down tonight!
  4. temp 2.3C Dew Point -1C Windchill -1C Not exactly has cold as I would have expected it to be, that cold air needs to get a move on lol Dry outside and no snow or even rain.
  5. very bizarre statement. No matter what or how you say it..the fact is its winter. Winter brings with it snow, unless people from london think winter doesnt involve such phenomena..though it should be noted down sarf where it snows more frequently than anything we see in the northwest..london should have been prepared..it should have had funds. If Liverpool the most corrupt city in the land can afford to grit our roads in anticipation of no snow. The fact you get varying amount of snow each winter compared to our no snow each winter..London should have been more than prepared. Bit of a sad joke really that it wasnt..and gives a whole new meaning to the word southern softies. London might be the capital but it is not the whole of the UK and I take exception to that greatly. 40/60 million live within 2 hours of london. Right and geographically the rest of the country does not exist? The BBC more than needs to get a grip.
  6. be great if it actually ever did snow in liverpool and surrounding areas..so far this winter its been poor to poor exactly what it is every winter..i even fail to see why its called winter in liverpool since it has its own bloody climate from the rest of the country which does not usually involve snow. just hoping for something this weekend, but cant see it myself.
  7. sunday is looking brilliant for snow, maybe our turn to get battered
  8. temp 2.1°C from 3.6°C Dew Point -1°C Windchill -2°C Outside observations show huge steel grey snow clouds...checked to see if it was broken, it was not broken and it's making slow progress to us. That cloud bank is snow not rain..just need a bit cooler temps..below 2°C but it was snowing heavily at 4°C the other day so I dont think that matters. I reckon if you are at the coast you will probably get sleet, but since temps and dew point and windchill are now nicely coming down..think this could be something or maybe it wont do a thing lol some reason checked the radar and it hasnt picked anything up..yet there is the unbroken cloud with big puffy whitish snow clouds mixed in
  9. Temp stable at 3.6C Dew Point -1C Windchill -0C Clear sunny skies, forecast tonight temps will fall away sharply in some places that are not affected by the passing snow showers to give a good ground frost. Snow likely over high ground tho low ground cant be ruled out with dropping temps overnight.
  10. London get s dumped on, liverpool nothing and the same will be probably true of this..whats the chance of that snow from the nw heading our way for a low level dumping tonight, tomorrow and sunday? its like florida here in comparison to the rest of the country. Current Temp 3.6C Dew Point 0.C Windchill -1C I hope that temp really drops off, and we can get some nice heavy showers and the snow really does pile up..surely its our turn now the rest of the country have had theirs lmao
  11. lol, just looking at the radar, it says its snowing, but the precip must be extremely light in nature because I am seeing nothing at all, expect where it is wet from all the rain and sleet earlier today. Woke up this morning with a good inch or so of snow, but by 11 it was completely gone and all surfaces wet from the sleety rain mix. Hopeful for a spot of snow tonight if that radar is right, its sitting right on our region. some nice dark echoes on the mid wales coast..on reflection it seems to just be sitting there stalled from what i can tell of the 2 hour radar lapse..hard to tell, but wow thats a lot of snow there Temp is 0C exactly, dew point is 0C and windchill -3..unsure what what the current wet bulb temps are.
  12. i am with you on that, i think we will likely miss out and at the weekend i am not a fan of the gfs for the northwest..but even they are saying snow chance about 80% and on higher ground only
  13. well its nice and cold here dew point -3c and windchill -3 whats the upper air temps for the region like anyone know?
  14. i am quite surprised at how warm it is actually..5.6C and rising? more like river floods if anything : actually think of rain you wont go wrong to be honest... liverpool is the only city in the entire country that gets rain while it buckets down with snow else where, so i am not remotely optimistic, nice setup shame we will get nothing if those models are to believed.
  15. why do you guys insist on using the inaccurate gfs? wasnt the last slap on monday enough evidenc it is so inaccurate for NW. close range please do me a favour. It cant even predict to 6 hours out let alone longer than that. lol We have a very peculiar setup in the nw. micro climate or not. I think some people are reying too much on a system that simply cant predict for the nw and taking conclusions from it. For what it's worth i cant see any of that snow missing us..the entire country will be under it..apart from liverpool and the north west? lolol mind you its a barmy day outside at 4.3C wheres the sun tan lotion? though seriously I am hoping the colder air actually undercuts a way ahead of that snow on the radar to the north, lots of it up there heading south
  16. just took a look at the gfs again, we'll get rain heading in from sw england, and it will meet up with the cold air, the fact we are now going to remain in the cold sector means we will get a pasting at the least come thurs, fri , sat i would think...certainly there is an incursion from the nw becoming more northerly, we will also have advancing snow heading north from the south west and snow advancing south from the nw or n. so snow heading south, will hit us, if that doesnt then that snow from the south will. seems the bbc are in agreement with the assesment, so i guess it will be sunny and mild then
  17. we now have light snow from the snow from sw tbh i am not paying any attention to the gfs its practically changing each update, which to me means it doesnt seem to have a clue whats really going to happen lol
  18. Just watching that radar deffo something coming off north wales, though its defragmenting a lot as it does so, but it will reach here. Currenly -1C has never risen above this all day, snow is still here, slight thawing last night as that blasted warm sector moved in, but thankfully it departed as quickly as it arrived, and temps dropped back down again very quickly, we currently have -2C dew Point and -6C windchill. So that stuff heading this way is definately snow, and it showing up quite well out of north wales..again there really isnt anything in it, just a small quick shower but there does appear to be quite a bunch of sharp intense showers moving from sw wales heading to nw england
  19. looks like we will keep the snow coming for a good hour or two yet..though looking south on the radar it does seem to peter out..though we are still getting a se->nw feed for now. i just saw some snow lightning lol
  20. yes a brief northwesterly incursion through thurs/sat but i think its pretty marginal / knife edge for our area at the moment though it could change
  21. thing is our dew point has risen to 0c..that will drop as temps drops generally so not so bothered about that tbh. it amazes me how warm places like the channel island end up with more than we have 0.o
  22. tomorrow morning 9am looks interesting for the nw take a look at the snow risk map though i am not really that convinced they are that accurate..they say one thing and another is happening lolol
  23. i dont think it will die out, more or less i think we will keep the light snow coming for a while yet
  24. i reckon there could be a few more heavier showers, but from what i see on the radar its still going from se to nw still plenty of light snow about to keep the amount stacking up
  25. i doubt it will rain, since it will hit below freezing if not done so already in some places. Will it last all night? am not sure, so far it seems to be heading directly to us from the se and its been doing that for some time now..there was a lull in the se a bit back but now they are reporting snow again..i would love to say yes snow all night..but there are too many factors playing out here..things seem to be changing all over the place..lets keep our fingers crossed lol
