The Yorkshire thread has already been updated, the new thread has a day or so worth of posts moved into it.
That said, Invision came on last night and fixed the issue with long threads, so the errors shouldn't happen when visiting the old ones

Just posting into this thread to get it on the forum homepage rather than the old one.

Is that the old or the new regional threads, there are fresh SW and Wales ones?

Can you tell me the specific threads please.

Ok yep, that is weird. No idea what would cause that tbh, but all these errors are being logged, so with any luck Invision will be able to get what they need from those when they come on, and get it all sorted out.

Sorry, missed this. Could be a fun idea, thanks for the suggestion.

Even the new one?

I think it's related to very long threads, so we're going to be working through and restarting a bunch.

Sorry to hear that Katrine, I think there may be a few residual bugs floating about at the moment, but hopefully it should be ok if you try again.

So, Invision have put a number of optimisations in place to hopefully resolve the issues we've been seeing. It's a fairly wide-ranging problem by the sounds of it, so we're not 100% out of the woods yet, as Invision continue to track any potential remaining issues down. But everything will hopefully be a lot more stable with far fewer of these brief outages from here on in.
As ever though, please shout in here if you do spot any problems..

Are you able to access them again now @Andy Bown & @*Stormforce~beka*?

Invision are doing some work on things at the moment, so there may be a few bumps as that happens.

I've updated our status page to use the checks we've set up to capture these short downtimes, rather than the older version which was missing them. It's not especially helpful in terms of getting this sorted, I know, but it does at least make everything as transparent as possible. It is also highlighting that after some improvement at the end of November, the issue has actually got worse again this week, unfortunately. So, we'll be doubling our efforts to push Invision to resolve it asap.

I think the situation has improved a fair bit, so we're hoping Invision can continue on that path and fully sort it.
The option to move back to our own servers is still on the table, but the truth is that it would involve some downtime too.

if that small low wasn't there in the Atlantic i'd be confident of a screaming N'ly on this run.
And if it wasn't cloudy today it would have been sunny!

Midlands regional discussion - Winter 23/24
in Midlands Weather Discussion
Posted
A fresh thread for everyone in the Midlands to chat about their weather through Winter 23/24. Thanks to a suggestion from @Dancerwithwings - this thread will lock (automatically) at the end of February and a new Spring discussion should start.
Hopefully it's a fun winter, with plenty to chat about.
