  1. Can't say I've seen this happen, and not sure why it is but I'll try to get to the bottom of it. Is it still occurring? Can you upload the same image to a post?
  2. Huge snowfall in the Alps over the coming days, including today. But closer to home, the Scottish ski resorts have epic conditions too - Jo's blogged about it here http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=5665;sess=
  3. It's something on the data itself I'm afraid, so we're in the hands of the metoffice to clean it
  4. For the final time, this thread is for discussing the models, not just cold, everything. If people want to focus on cold that's fine if it's model related, if people want to focus on the here and now that's fine as long as it's model related, and if people want to look at deep fi, that's fine too so long as it's model related. So hopefully you get the jist - model discussion is fine in this thread regardless of the slant, so please can we put an end to this apparent need to tell people what they should and shouldn't be posting about.
  5. Last chance for some people in here - it's getting ridiculous how those involved can't seem to deal with people having different opinions, perspectives or interests when it comes to discuss the models. 1. People who mention the word mild, or who don't look for snow/cold at every turn aren't trolling - so those treating them as such need to stop. 2. People who are looking for cold and want to discuss it, so long as it's model related are welcome to, so those telling them they shouldn't also need to stop. 3. Model discussion means just that, so if your post doesn't fit into that category don't post it. And finally, for those of you acting like it's some sort of playground in here, please grow up - you're not only wrecking the thread for others, and you're making yourselves look really ridiculous.
  6. Ah ok, maybe update it to the latest one see if that helps.
  7. Yep, the message about weatherlink says it's 5.4.3b3 beta on the screenshot there, I assume there's probably a stable version available.
  8. The only thing I can suggest is that it's perhaps a bugin the software as you're using a beta version there which may have some problems within it, perhaps install a stable version rather than the latest beta to see if that helps?
  9. Latest video from Jo, stormy & wet... http://vimeo.com/85826994 http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=5662;sess=
  10. Just to put things in perspective - I've just had a trawl of all the deleted posts in the last week and can only find 3 or 4 posts from this thread which have been removed - so when you consider the number and diversity of posts in that time, it really is a tiny number. So there really is no need to worry about posts being gratuitously removed just because they aren't strictly weather related
  11. We have one over in the lounge http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78806-banter-pinch-punch-first-of-the-month/ We also have the chat room: http://forum.netweather.tv/chat/ Best will in the world, with some of the drama in here anyone would think that Ali has come along and threatened to have anyone who doesn't post a 100 word essay on the weather hung drawn and quartered!! All that's been said is that this that we should bear in mind that this is essentially a weather thread, and although banter and chat is cool a weathery vein should run through it. So a bit of perspective needed I think, no-one wants to rip the guts out of here and make it a dry, serious weather discussion only thread, it's just that in recent times it's had some moments where it's just strayed a bit more toward random banter, and a bit further from weather, so the reminder this morning was just to try and tip the scales back the other way a touch, and that's it.
  12. Hi John, I think you've posted the wrong screenshot there so it's a bit tricky to understand the problem - can you re-post?
  13. No, unfortunately this isn't possible currently I'm afraid. Since last week
  14. Yep, the one at the bottom does when you scroll down the page, but from what I've heard most people find it useful rather than annoying as these aren't ads or anything, they're just showing content on the site you may be interested in
  15. Oh, that's new but it's user activated - so if you mouse over or click the arrow on the right it slides out - it doesn't come out automatically.
  16. Oh, the recommended content box with links to other parts of the site? That's actually been running across the site for 3 or 4 months now! But anyway, I've switched it off on the homepage as it's probably not needed on there - we've had good feedback on them as it goes
  17. Not sure what you mean - nothing else has been added?
  18. That's not really related to what you posted originally though - you simply said that because the UKMO model had been wrong previously it wasn't likely to be right, which is what I responded to. Regardless of how this winter has gone or anything else, the fact is that all models get it wrong at times and discounting them purely on that basis is never going to work.
  19. This type of post bugs me tbh - just because a model goes off on a tangent later in some runs a week ago it doesn't mean everything it now suggests is not going to happen. If we worked on that basis then we'd never look at any models as they all have their ups and downs!
  20. Can we steer this back to the models please..
  21. Jo's latest forecast for the week ahead - in summary: showery, colder, then wet & windy.. http://vimeo.com/85196198
  22. Yep, that does look like a bug in the viewer - will make sure it's sorted asap
