  1. Updated weather alert here: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=weather-alert-status;sess=
  2. The total numbers online are still available on the forum homepage
  3. This isn't to suggest the same thing is imminent, but many people who were out and about before the 1987 storm reported how calm and pleasant it was that evening....
  4. Lol - why would you use that! No need to go anywhere since you're already on netweather... http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=radar;sess=
  5. Notice The forum is going to go down for 1-2 minutes shortly - we have to add some power to the database to keep things running smoothly. Apologies for any inconvenience - we didn't expect it to be quite as busy as it is...
  6. Latest top 20 gusts - southern Britain not really in play yet - top of Cairngorm leading the way at 97mph http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=current;type=maxg;sess= PS - 100mph+ isn't uncommon at the top of Cairngorm -
  7. I think there may have been a bit of a bottleneck occurring on the database, have hopefully sorted that now and it's all running smoothly.
  8. You're comparing apples and pears there, the top one is gusts, the bottom is the mean speed. The current gust map from the GFS for the same time is quite different: And bear in mind that the GFS isn't a high-resolution short range model, these show higher gusts locally during the evening, overnight and into the early hours.
  9. Just wanting to re-post this as unfortunately we have had to stop some from posting due to ongoing disruptive posts. Thanks for all of the reports btw - really helps us to keep things running smoothly :-)
  10. But this is utterly irelevent to the thread - it's a thread to discuss the storm incoming later today nothing more. If you want to make a thread to talk about media bias or the possibility of further storm systems affecting other parts of the country next week feel free, but don't do so in this thread.
  11. Way too many people trolling this discussion currently - either those intent on disrupting the discussion rather than adding to it positively stop, or we'll have no option but to take action to stop you. To add to this, all those responding to people who are seeking to cause disruption to the thread, please stop - we can deal with one post quickly, but 1 post + 20 replies is more hassle and takes the thread off topic even more, so please just report posts you think are an issue and leave it at that.
  12. Hot off the press - a special forecast from Michael Fish covering the next 24 hours: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=michaelfish;sess=
  13. Storm incoming - be prepared: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=5483;sess=
  14. Storm incoming - be prepared http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=5483;sess=
  15. Another set of posts removed - please don't respond to those who appear to be just looking to court controversy and provoke reaction - just hit the report button and we can deal with it
  16. Updated and detailed weather alert just issued: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=weather-alert-status;sess=
  17. Updated and detailed weather alert now online http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=weather-alert-status;sess=
  18. The wave has now developed, so it's on the way.. Jo has posted the water vapour image with it here: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78270-sunday-monday-storm-latest-from-the-netweather-team/#entry2816646
  19. He'll be updating his forecast on here tomorrow - so keep an eye out for that http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=michaelfish;sess=
  20. Don't forget you can check your latest local forecast here: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=uk7dayx2;sess= And an at a glance wind speed forecast for the next 5 days here: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=wind;sess=
  21. Just deleted a bunch of posts - most of which replying to people who appear to be posting purely to get a reaction. Please hit the report button if someone is appearing to troll, it's much easier to deal with one problem post than it is to deal with that original post + 30 replies. Please remember this thread is to discuss the upcoming storm - a bit of banter is ok, but taking it off on tangents with petty arguments is not.. Thanks.
