  1. Similair thing happened to us 19th December 2009 here. Weather front came in and started as pretty heavy rain (and the snow we had was getting washed away quick) Just after 3 o clock that afternoon I remember looking out the window and it was still raining. Within 1 minute though the rain had turned to huge snowflakes and everything was very white very quickly!
  2. Somewhere will possibly get a hammering with showers or even better storms......it's just where exactly and when
  3. Next sunday looking very tasty indeed according to GFS (watch it disappear though)
  4. Sharp shower blowing through us just now (although not expecting any major developments at all today) for us anyway
  5. Every single year for us? We always usually just miss the biggies. They often skite to the north/east/south of us. It's as if we have some sort of storm shelter built in place
  6. Quite a heavy shower here now and interestingly some really black skies before it came in (Looks moderate at best on the radar) Just a pity there was no real heat to the sky as that could have been quite a beastie given the right conditions but as it is.
  7. You sure? I'm in Cumbernauld (Blackwood) and haven't heard anything (although the skies to the north look tasty)
  8. Looks as if Rain's about to set in here very soon. Whether it's thundery or not is another matter.
  9. Already some pretty wild showers blowing through the lowlands to where I am. Tomorrow might be pretty interesting at this rate.
  10. Just blew through here that shower as a short, sharp downpour. No thunder/lightning although wind's increased quite considerably. Wild day out there.
  11. Not sure as i'm not there but apparently there's a storm in Dumbarton Currently and it's starting to get quite dark here too.................
  12. Had a quite strong shower here not that long ago (Which seemingly formed out of nothing) No thunder/lightning though. Quite interesting to note despite being really quite breezy all day long? The wind has died back to nothing like it was yesterday. No more showers looking like they are on the horizon (For now)
  13. Let's see it all disappear on the next run! Does look very impressive for next weekend but we all know charts tend to get downgraded. I suspect it won't be as extreme as GFS is showing just now (Although if it's still there by wednesday then I'll begin to believe it's possible)
  14. I wonder if that could be a sign of things to come over the rest of Scotland tomorrow. Spread those beauties just a few miles further east!
  15. As ever, Any storms will be completely isolated. However, If you are lucky enough to get one? You will know all about it I reckon.
  16. Delayed report I know but yesterday afternoon just after 3pm in the centre of Dumbarton, I saw the most incredible storm I had seen in a long time. Wasn't so much for the thunder and lightning but the rain was so torrential that within 2 minutes of it starting the town was underwater quite literaly (and didn't stop for near enough an hour) 1 hell of a downpour I will never forget in a hurry!
  17. If you have Sky? Go to channel 415. Watching a good storm at Worcester while they're racing.
  18. Anybody fancy a trip to central europe at +372? http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn37211.png (I know it won't happen but still) Where I been last 48 hours (Yesterday I was at m and d's theme park in wishaw I think and the day before dumbarton) There's been a lot of heavy showers sometimes pretty torrential and even some hailstones. Been a fairly lively time up here although localised.
  19. Looks as if it's kicked off again in NE Scotland.
  20. Had a 15 minute storm here. Quite a downpour to go with it too.
  21. Got a hail storm on going here just now but as I look out my window it's still sunny believe it or not! (Mind you was black to the north and east of me) I'm in cumbernauld in scotland incase any1 asks (I should put it in my sig)
  22. Quite interesting to note that glencoe on wednesday I think it was had the record amount of snow for any ski resort in the entire world for 24 hours at 80CM! How many times can you say a Scottish ski resort beat every other ski resort in the world for snow in 1 day.
  23. Truly staggering snow on the mountains here in scotland (and these are just the ski resorts) http://www.skiclub.co.uk/skiclub/snowreports/snowconditions.aspx?intCountryID=96&strSortOrder=Country (Click on SCO if it isn't already highlighted) Simply staggering amounts! Must be 1 of the best seasons ever.
  24. Saw lights flicker a couple more times but not saw any more lightning since our brief burst earlier but rain has turned sleety again.
  25. Not a snow report but just had our first rumble of thunder/lightning for 2010 here in cumbernauld. Noticed a flash then a small rumble. Unexpected but good all the same. (Raining BTW)
