  1. Does it annoy anyone one else that the word "polar vortex" is considered a new term because of the weather in America? or is it just me

  3. Looking at the Net Weather RadarAlmost all of Wales covered by some intense rainfall https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19416-512013/
  4. Some seriously heavy rain here now. Went to top up the electric at the petrol station and had to pull over, couldn't see. No lightning as of yet.
  5. Impressive seas for sure. I'm wondering if the coast of west Wales will see these waves? We certainly did on Friday but this time it seems like Ireland shields us.
  6. Hoping the thundery blob passes over me in NW Wales. Lightning hit the T.V mast a few miles from here on Friday night. Didn't witness it my self though.
  7. I cant seem to find any talk of this incoming monster apart from the link you provided. Surely it merits more attention?
  8. Here's a photo I took about an hour ago outside my house. It came down last night. It must have been the 5 second power cut I had. Power needs to go off for them to cut it down. https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19367-hanging-on-power-lines/
  9. 3 roof tiles off the house now here in North West Wales. Road into Llanrug from Caernarfon blocked by trees.
  10. Violent winds now. This is a solid stone house but it feels as if it is shaking with the stronger gusts. Power went down for about 5 seconds, will be surprised if we don't get a full blown (pun certainly intended) power cut.
  11. The highest winds since a long time here for me. Lights flickering with almost every gust. Traffic signs moving violently.
  12. Indeed! Winds are getting stronger by the hour. Worst isn't until late night/early morning and into the afternoon tomorrow. Stay safe.
  13. A bit of now casting from one of the areas anticipated to bear the brunt of the winds tonight and into tomorrow, North West Wales. I live on the foot hills of Snowdonia. The village is on a West South West facing hill overlooking the Irish sea so I'm expecting some hefty gusts for sure.Right now, winds are increasing and gusts are on the rise. Gusts are beginning to howl at the windows and doors rattling during gusts, however, no rain yet. Cant give any wind speeds sorry. Only what I hear, see and feel. BBC saying 80mph expected here with disruption to power. I don't mind a good storms as long as damage is minimal. A lot of Christmas food in that freezer so hoping we don't get a lengthy power cut.Merry Christmas everyone.
  14. Just for the sake of being interesting.Western snow gains were up at this time in 2010. However, more ice growth this year. Look at how close the ice is getting to Iceland compared to 2010. Will Iceland and the Arctic bridge this year? Looks promising Snow and ice cover for 24/11/2010 https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19242-24112010-ice-and-snow-cover/ Snow and ice cover for 24/11/2013https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19243-24112013-ice-and-snow-cover/
  15. Aaaah I see, my mistake. Many thanks!, and yes it does look cold! When I had the big lens on I could see snow drifting about. Would be a significant wind chill up there I bet.
  16. yes I am 100% sure that the photo I took yesterday was that of Snowdon
  17. Here's a photo I took last night (10/10/2013) of the dusting on top of Snowdon https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19181-snowdon/ I will upload more as things progress
