    Only GFS CAPE values have downgraded. CAPE is not the make or break when it comes to T storms, maybe the BBC and met putting out warnings now is a good sign?

    Yes they were great storms and I was not expecting to get that intensity. Others are writing the west off based on GFS CAPE modelling alone. Everywhere has a chance tomorrow.

    Sky warn - SURFACE-BASED CONVECTIVE INITIATION IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR ACROSS WALES. Hope so, even though the models might favour the central/eastern UK for the big stuff, you cant rule out thunderstorms anywhere in these conditions. A case of now casting and as the May storms showed for me, they can pop up anywhere given the right conditions and fast. Good luck all, we are all in with good chances I'd say, even if some of us dont get the big stuff but get something....its better than nothing.

    This is a roller coaster, one minute it aint looking good for the west, next it aint too shabby. I am now neutral, Poland so to speak, and just going to ride it out with cautious optimism.

    Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Time will tell, thunderstorms aren't really known for their predictability , I doubt I'll go through the day without seeing something. But I'm starting to think models were created for one reason and one reason only, last minute disappointment to the westerners!.

    Saying that I had a good day of storms about 2 weeks ago, just never the big stuff that makes the news, thunderstorms that is. I get plenty hammered by Atlantic shizle in the winter.

    I'm staying cautiously optimistic. We might not get the big stuff (MCS, supercells) but ingredients are there for some thunderstorms to pop up anywhere really, just hope its not this "thundery rain" ...which usually is just rain.

    At the moment, I seem to be too far west. But never say never when it comes to this kind of setup. BBQ or no BBQ, that is the question.

    I only remember all nighters occurring when I was a child, about 10 years old. I'm 25 now so about 15 years ago. However last June I was in Florida and the most intense night-long thunderstorm(s) passed right over head. I didnt get a wink of sleep as I was up watching it. Constant flashes and endless booms. The dream thunderstorm. I've never experienced a supercell, we missed out here in June 2012.

    Yup! Wasnt expecting anything but some heavy showers today. We've had some hefty downpours earlier then a few claps. Seems to have moved on now. An interesting low flying, large aircraft flew into the cell too as I was looking for lightning. with an unfamiliar flight path to the normal commercial planes that fly over here. Never seen anything like it, almost looked like an AWAC aircraft.

    Diolch! They seemed to have a track that either took them out over Dinas Dinlle and on towards Holyhead or pass Caernarfon to the east onto Bangor then out to sea. Yeah very fast development of these clouds now that the sun has come out to play.

    Amazing day yesterday, storms all day and one at night. Been overcast all morning, sun broke through about an hour ago and dark clouds are bubbling already. Very humid and muggy and convective looking popcorn clouds are plenty.Here's a shot I got last night from our 4th and last thunderstorm, I posted it last night (this morning) but it was very late.
