Where is the met office getting this forecast from?? (guess they waiting to back track a little later on so they don't appear too be useless) Sunday 15 May - Tuesday 24 May High pressure continues across the UK at first, centring over the east and northeast, while a lower pressure develops over the west. Fine dry weather can be expected for most, with an increased chance of more unsettled weather in the west and southwest. Through the first part of this period, the east-west split becomes more apparent. With settled weather continuing in the northeast, cloudier conditions, and the possibility of showers, potentially heavy and thundery, may be expected for the west and southwest. Towards the second weekend, this unsettled weather over the west may spread further eastwards, bringing generally more changeable conditions for most. No it's gonna be 2007 all over again rain rain rain! then again it's going to be 1976! No one has any idea what this summer will be like. So no point in trying to work it out. everyone will be wrong. One thing is certain if we continue with the block to the east with high pressure it will stop the atlantic from sending its crap our way.Hopefully we we will tap into warmer air when the continent warms up. Just don't know what pressure charts will show in a week never mind in June/July.

It was a weird set up last year. weather patterns wise that is. High pressure to the north and low to the south. I hope we all have a settled summer this year .

I'd settle for a repeat of last years summer. It was excellent up here. apart from August which was extremely cloudy. June/July and September were nice.. if i recall the met office said it was the 9th warmest summer on record.

2016 was the best August i can remember... the lovely summer of 2018. finished in the first week of August.. I cant complain with this summer personally. June and July were pretty good . If we end up with a decent late August/September. I would settle for that for this year..

August has been very poor apart from 3/4 days. Very cloudy not a lot of rain.Not a lot of anything to be honest. I guess the Augusts i remember growing up were just imagination and not reality. Really is the worse month of all 3 summers months over the last 20 years.

August so far bar 3/4 good days. has been poor but June and July were pretty decent up north. Its not a matter of better standards down south its a matter the south being stuck under a low thats hovered over northern France. Not wet down there just very cloudy. This has been the best summer since 2018 here. Looking good need week for a long settled spell with warmer temperatures.Personally i would take this kind of summer every year.been far to many poorish summers in the last decade.

Lovely and sunny here and pleasantly warm. Just like the lots of days we had in June and July.

Thats because pressure has been higher in the north. The south has been under a low that's been stuck over France. Throwing cloud into the southern part of the UK... its been a weird set up this year.. very dry summer compared to last year.. best summer since 2018 for me.. It may change later in the week. But only 2/3 days this summer can i honestly say i have felt cold.I remember last July one morning. It was so cold i could see cold air when I breathed out. Terrible last year. This July has not been a classic like 2013/14 or 18 but been its been nice enough.

Looking half a decent day today and smashing day tomorrow.. Hopefully August turns out to be pretty good.. I think it will after the first week or so.. But time will tell on that.. Im happy with summer 2021 what ever happens. Even if August turns out to be less than sparkling..Hopefully pressure will rise for September. Can't see both months being poor personally

The met office is going for most places above 25c all week until at least next Friday. 32c tomorrow predicted for London.. 29c up here

Summer 2021 is turning into an outstanding summer here long may it continue

Apart from 3 days back. I cant remember the last time i felt actually cold this summer. theres been no nip in the air that we get in a lot of summers.

Lovely day again here...If we end up with second half of July hot and a very good August. its been an outstanding summer in the North. Really can't complain with the summer of 2021 so far.Obviously we've had the odd poor day here and there, But you expect that.

Worse day of the summer so far here....yes we've had days of rain. but its never felt cold. Today is an exception.

Looking ok at the moment here plenty of sunshine and puffy white clouds. I'm sure a thunder shower is around the corner. Hoping to miss it though
