Yet we get hot weather in August and September..:)

I love the BBC monthly outlook. for 2 weeks it was saying warming up later. Now for the last week and half its been saying cooler and wetter.. They have no idea. so they mention Theres 35% of this happening and 26% of that happening.. the site weather outlook went for a warmer than average spring we know how that turned out.. Long range forecasting in the UK is pointless. So for summer. I will say theres 86% chance of rain. one day.. and one day theres a 16% of it reaching 30c..or is that 18%?? I dunno will have to look at my models again

This current set up that is about to happen Reminds me of 2013.. we started off with a high to the west in June. it was nice for the western side of the UK. Including my location. Then the high drifted east and it lead to one of the hottest Julys I can ever remember. Obviously no two years are exact..so i don't know what 2021 will bring.

I know Leeds is 2/3 c lower than London... but even here you'd expect 17/18c now and then.. not 9/10c with heavy showers for weeks on end.. if I had money I'd seriously consider moving somewhere warmer. because our climate can be ultra depressing I don't think I could cope emotionally with another cold and wet summer.. I know that's a bit OTT.But we want our fair share on nice weather.. I dont expect a summer like 2018 every year..but a Summer of some description would be nice.

And another thing.. Why does the Daily Express continue to wilfully lie about the weather?? is it purely to sell newspapers? They have been doing it for years . 24c in one article here.

What's the difference between cool and cold weather this time of year when mentioned by forecasters? about 00.1c?? Its COLD not cool

Depressing to say the least.

My only hope is that this crap weather is happening in May.. Last June we had 12c here for a week in the mid month.. Things can only improve. Though may take the rest of May. To me September is always better than May anyway and thats 3 and half months away.. Though the last few Mays have been excellent. . We've had some good springs in recent years and average to poor summers.. So hopefully its a different outcome this time around

My favourite month is October.. I love how its mild to begin with then half way through you start to feel the chills of late autumn has the nights start to get shorter and shorter.

But that's where averages come in... I can almost guarantee you . last June came out higher than average. Because we had several days where it was hotter than usual (then again maybe not last June) but I'm speaking in general how averages work. You can have a week of hot weather with unbroken sunshine then have 3 dire weeks. And the stats will make it look good..

Thanks I will just stick to what happens in reality. I watched a weather forecast from the 1960s a while back. And even then a weather forecaster was blaming the Jet stream for having such a poor summer that year. But hey what do I know?

I only usually come on this site around late spring and early summer each year. And I often get into a debate over the Jet stream.. I was watching the week ahead forecast for the met office on youtube. And the weather forecaster mentioned how the Jet is in an usual place.. yet year after year. The jet is usually in this position. (apart from now and then) but that is rarer.. But the norm is where it currently is. My annoyance is when the obvious is ignored to suit what ever idea the person/s objective is. Every upcoming summer theres always a case of Jet stream being in the wrong place for what summers lovers would like. All anyone can hope for is that it moves further north and stays in that position long enough to give us a decent summer. But over all the realism is. the jet stream is in the usual place for the UK.. Just my two penneth worth

May is your typical June of recent years. Waiting for the northern blocking to subside....April i found to be pretty decent over all. back to normal now though.. lets hope the weather starts to show signs of improvement soon.

I know the records will probably say July 2018 was warmer than 2013. But I personally think 2013 was. 2016 August and September were excellent.. I know September is considered an Autumn month. But I go by the how the weather is. And that September was hot.

We have had some excellent Julys in the last few years.. 2013/14/18 and July 2019 was pretty good as well. Apart from 2018.summers over all haven't been great. But that's the UK..Our summers are stop and start. If you like the summer weather. Like I do.All we can hope for is a settled summer and I hope 2021 goes that way.

We are getting to point in the year where everything is "cool" when it comes to forecasts. rather than cold when its the winter. Anyway we have been lower than average all month.. We usually get an hotter than average month now and then..so my only hope is that it happens in 2 summer months this year.

lovely and pleasant here again. Really cant complain with the weather in the last 2 weeks. I know the micro climate in the South east as been dodged with a brisk NE. Not here though

The feel of things is what counts.. You can have 21c and a strong NW and it will feel like 12c . Right now the winds are fairly light. Makes all the difference. Its gonna change soon though.

saying that, its gonna be a decent spring day today so can't complain not yet anyway

How many years have we had to put up with the northern blocking in Summer?? Its happened in Spring this year.. The weather pattern will eventually change. Even if the jet stream kicks into play. hopefully most of the time its steered further north. I would rather have a less settled regime if we get lots of sunny days with warmer temperatures. Cold sunny days don't offer much for us who likes warmth.

Probably nonsense. But i find warm Aprils tend ruin summers.. I like how its been cold and clear so far this spring.. Hopefully if the Jet stream does start up. its more active but is not aimed at us but further north than we have seen in last 2 summers. So meaning we are on the right side for good weather. Not expecting a great summer they are rare. But i decent summer would be nice. Anyhow Winter did feel cold,, and so far spring has followed suit. only means it can only get warmer? fingers crossed
