Been out on a date today - so only just got back... but what a random day for the weather!
I looked outside at 10:00am and it was lightly raining, let the dog out for a tinkle and when she came back in the light rain turned heavier for about 5 minutes, then about 10:30am it switched to hail (that started really bucketing it down). After about 5-10 minutes of this, it started going lighter, so I thought excellent time to leave and walk down the town to the cashpoint. The second I leave the house, boom! The hail turns to light snow... then with every passing minute it got heavier and heavier - the flakes grew in size too (not going OTT here, but some of the flakes were HUGE! Easily 3-4cm+). At one point it was basically impossible to walk... the snow was coming down in vast quantities and also there were strong winds - so the snow was pretty much travelling horizontally and smashing you in the face (so you couldn't see). Suffice to say, with the slush from the hail and blizzard conditions earlier, I was soaked! Never in my life have I wanted to get into a (warm) pub as quick as I did today.
