That's a cracking good rumble of thunder !
That one was fairly mild compared to some of the others. Am very pleased with how it all turned out today, finally getting a decent proper storm.

Well, here in Weston-super-Mare, we got battered. Was amazing! Loads of loud bangs and rumbles, not much in the way of visible 'fork' lightning, oh and slight biblical rain.
The drain in our back garden turned into a weird garden feature too. That was one amazing storm.

Snowing in Weston-super-Mare from ~3:45am.
First snowflake I've seen in three years. Am well pleased.

that is huge, any intercloud lightning?
Not that I could see, still bright outside et al, however I followed it on the rain radar and also on satellite imagery. At 1800 and 1805 (BST) it looked more like it had a 'hook', then sometime after that (about 30-60 mins), it was dumping its guts - a well defined circle of Purple (on NW radar) ... it was totally mad how ferocious it seemed on radar.
I've never seen one so big in my life. -

Activity starting back up again in Clevedon, although no rain at the moment. Just lightning and thunder. Excellent!

Would normally be in Weston-super-Mare, but am currently in Clevedon this week.
Plenty of loud rumbles and the rain is currently just starting now -- ooo a good flash and a cracking rumble.

My guess would be the tears of everyone else itching for a storm.
As for here, it was nice to see a bit of rain earlier, felt a lot cooler too, but now it's feeling more muggy. NW's 7 day stuff for here no longer shows any sort of precip or storms at all for here today - even though all week it's had them listed with a 70-80% chance.
It's pretty much 100% cloud here too, so that's not really gonna help any surface heating.
Oh well, hopefully something changes as the day progresses.

We had our Air show in Weston-super-Mare on 18th and 19th June. I went popped down the seafront on the Saturday (18th). I didn't really get many pictures because just like when you're try to take a picture of the moon, an iPhone is naff at doing so - oh and because the breeze was cold coming it, my phone shut off at around 45% battery. *grumbles*
All I got (image wise) is the initial fly over and a bit of the Red Arrows playing around. I really need to invest in a proper 'real' camera. :/- 1

Did tweet a picture taken from a hotel webcam earlier. Quality is amazing.

21:15 Outside turned out like a monsoon. The cat's pretty much crapped themselves at the downpour. Haha.

6z update has calmed that down a tad - our new physics were overdoing rain totals in storms, so we've updated again this morning and they're now more realistic.
After posting, I did just check and noticed the totals were way less, however I'm not going to tell her that.
Fingers crossed for something stormy tonight here anyway. Phone and backup charger are full of juice, so hopefully I catch something.- 2

The Mother's finished mowing the lawn (again) and she always seems to think that once she's cut it, there usually is a little bit of rain that follows. So she asks me to find out...
The Mother: "Is there any rain due, Dale?"
Me: "Let me check"
...
...
Me: "Only a little, Mother."
*shows her the pic*

Where/what is the best site to view clouds and their types, causes etc?? Maybe I'm not using correct terminology to find a good/best site?
There's a little gallery of some here (https://scied.ucar.edu/cloud-image-gallery), if you click on one it has a little brief description below.
Or there's always WikiPedia. Main article: 'Cloud' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud (or if you go to the very bottom of this article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulus_cloud) and expand the 'Cloud genera and selected species, supplementary features, and other airborne hydrometeors - WMO Latin terminology except where indicated' box, more types will be listed. Just click on any and you'll get plenty of information)
However, I usually just refer to 'Simple WikiPedia' (https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud) for a lot of things, more easier to understand once I've woke up.
Ooo, I'm a doughnut, forgot to mention something a closer to home, there's also a thread on here too.

I have a quality little cell building right over me! No precipitation yet, but got it all on a timelapse, south coast looking insane right now!
I hope it continues to build... going by the usual direction of everything so far, I might end up getting it.

23rd July 2013 was an ace one, the ATD on here struggled to load on my laptop due to the thousands of strikes - did get some screen caps from it too, not sure where I've put them though. Think there was like 85,000+ strikes that day?
Back to today, well, this evening, still the odd shower here and there, but nothing besides that.

NW Radar has had me on [green] sleet (with [red] snow) for 45 minutes, sadly no show, just rain, rain and more rain. (Slight tone to this in hope that it does change)
Location: Highworth, Swindon
EDIT (16:42)
I think I can see a slight flake amongst the rain, that or my eyes are playing up today.
EDIT (16:49)
It's been transitioning over the past few minutes from rain to sleet and then now to snow. And yeah, we have snow falling.
