i know what you mean i think i have every radar up at the mo im trying to work out if its going to come across the BC or the other big bit of ppn from south wales across the BC it does seem to be moving in a very changeable way, every time i look it has moved in a different direction. And seem to fizzel out over land. I keep reading about the main event, can someone explain what that is because i thought we had had it.. or have i had it and your waiting for it to arrive over you? i know i havent slept in 30h so prob just being really doppy plus NW keeps crashing so missing lots of post.. thanks kaz x

they have had to shut the factory where hubby works out at south molton .. no one can get there, roads are impassible up there now. so he has the night off as well. Gritter got stuck up the road a few hours ago. still snowing here went outside and its that lovely squeaky stuff proper snow. Loads of fun over on the north devon/ cornwall coast. dont forget us over here.. whats it doing up on dartmoor matt? I still cant believe the ammount of snow we have here it truly is awsome. kaz x

thats a surprise its snowing again. temps down to -2.. so all this snow is not only topping up what we have already got but its also freezing. Hubby off to work in the min best of British to him they have grounded us for tonight as conditions are to bad for us girls to be out there on are own .. hope we keep the snow going ... kaz x

i cant look at the radar anymoor that nice big huge massive clump off snow is now moving out at sea passed me .. what a waste Still got a great covering of snow which is now starting to freeze so shouldn't be greedy but i (stamping foot like a 2 yrs old) WANT MORE ... God i am such a child .. ... Tell me off tell me i should be very grateful for what i have... I dare not ask if anymoor is on way but if anyone has got any info would be nice share ... lol kaz x

dam it they are giving us rain/sleet here, front page also going with rain, BBC going with rain/sleet.. mind you at the moment it says current.. (rain) but its still snowing here. They must think temps are going to shoot up during the day. any thoughts on this?? kaz x

im hoping so as well im out at landkey so hoping im just far enough inland.. Just talked to my work mates out in Bideford and they say its bad out there also ilfracombe combe martin ect i need to get some sleep but cant take my eyes of the radar.. kaz

temps here -4 DP -2 we have cloud cover but with big breaks keeping the temps down. But with sunrise i cant see how we can keep hold of the snow we have. Dont be fooled think ice covering under the snow as i found out when i went round a bend hahah.. kaz xx

hi just got back, heavy snow for about 2 and a bit hours roads that have been done are not to bad but those back raods are a pain in the butt,, eased off a bit now im home typical.. was a bit scared i wasnt going to make it home. now the question is will all this turn to sleet/rain??? hows everyone else doing? kaz x

temps dropped really quickly when the sun went down -3 already here and still dropping, DP at 0, if DP dosent rise anymore then we should be looking at it falling as snow.. like i said before we had ground temps of -3 but DP +1 so thefore we had rain. What ever happends and what ever falls out of the sky it will cover everything in Ice. Im out all night so will be taking blankets and a thermos with me as no matter what its gunner be cold. kaz x

hi ok will do.. I had the same problem the week before Christmas so expecting the same sort of thing this week, I hate driving on ice because you cant see it and i spend most of my time on back roads that have not been treated. i can see this falling as sleet maybe snow up on Exmoor but hitting the ground and freezing making my job even harder than it is. thanks again for everyones post's they are invauble to people who have to be out and about in it. kaz

thanks everyone for there very informative post's.. As my job takes me all over north Devon Cornwall and Somerset i am sorta pleased that there is no snow risk for my neck of the woods.. I work from 2200 until 0700 so as you can imagine driving at night in snow is a flipping nightmare, but i have to get out to the patients theat need me so dont have much choice .. Last yr i got stuck with a patient and family untill 12 noon so very glad thats not going to happen again.. kaz x

= hi last year it was -3 here and it fell as rain due to the dew point being +1 .. that seems to be what to look out for not ground temps.. We did get snow a few days later, so all not lost. i missed country file tonight as i was watching the darts. And yes your right sea temps do play a huge part in all the weather over the uk. I'm not sure how warm this warm sector is going to be but in my experance its good to have a warm (ish) sector this helps to trigger some ppn even better when you get a warm frount banging up against a cold one when this happends boom. Ive never seen charts like the ones we have seen over the last few days awsome to see. now time to sit glued to NW and have fun kaz x

well i give up with the model discussion.. How anyone has the balls to post in there is beyond me like a bunch of over sensitive kids . Temps dwn to -3 dew point -3 precipitation 0 my hubby washed the decking today its now like a flipping ice rink woooosh bang.. im still holding out hope for me seeing snow this week, might not be much but a nice covering would be nice. dosent look to be allot of precipitation around but things change very fast in the SW.. kaz

ugg so close i could almost reach out and touch it.. sadly they are going belly up as they cross the Bristol channel dew point of -3 and temps -3 nice and frosty out but sadly all the snow is going to hit Exmoor and maybe Bodmin and Dartmoor.. Still a chnce for them to spur into life but think the channel is sapping their energy.. kaz

hi i just want to point out that everyone on other threads bang on about the beast from the east, actually the south west peninsular does very poorly from this set up.. We need a N or NW .. In the past these set ups have produced the most prolong cold/snow.. I do remember the snow of 78/79 that came from a NW when the precipitation just sat over the west country due to a mild and cold battle we fortunatly were sat right under it. therfore huge ammounts of snow which i havent seen since. As someone else has pointed out the best snow normaly is not forcast just comes out of knowhere. So i for one is hopiing for a N or NW not these stupid east flow which gives us well not alot.. looking forward to sunday with eager antisipation all is not lost.. kaz
