I turn my attention away from from the forum for a couple of days and all this excitement happens lol. My own opinion is there's going to be a dryish child snap but no widespread low level snow. My fingers are crossed for wall to wall white outs though lol. On another note I finally forked out and got rid of the good year efficent lack of grip stupid eco tyres on the car for some Dunlop winter tyres. The good years were almost dangerous on cold wet tarmac they are grand in the mild but below about 4 or 5 degrees it's like driving with bald front tyres it's unbelievable the difference a couple of degrees makes to rubber.

I'm in work so I'm away from my weather station so I don't know the temp but a very hard frost. I have to go out soon and throw some salt about the car park or they'll all complain in the morning lol I'll have to unlock the car and see what it's says the temperature is. I had to force the car doors open earlier in the month I forgot to rub some oil on the seals so ill probably be stuck this morning too lol.

An unexpected ground frost at half 7 when I was heading out to work but it looks like theres an awful shortage of precipitation of any kind on the radar but fingers crossed lol.

Being so close to the coast and low lying in not holding my breath. Welcome Ali me and you both will be lamppost watching on night duty tomorrow night lol.

Wind is really picking up here the sister in laws back gate had blown down a while ago 2 doors down from me. My front gate is swinging on its hinges but I can't be bothered to go out and close it lol. The rain hasn't really arrived yet.

Winds certainly picked up. Roads were seriously bad here too last too I haven't been out anywhere today to see but I'm sure they're going to be worse by tomorrow morning. I don't watch the weather or news on TV but from what I've heard the bbc have seriously underplayed this storm.

Very hard grist this morning all 4 doors and boot were frozen shut on the car when I was leaving work I had to climb in from the back and force the front doors open from the inside lol. I also passed 4 cars in various ditches the roads are awful. The weather station is reporting -2.6. Hopefully Sperrin anything falling as snow would have to lie could be an interesting morning I just wish I didn't have to go to sleep and could watch the weather lol.

Looks like a good hard frost outside tonight but I haven't been out to check yet misty on and off too it's getting quite thick at the moment.

Temperature dropping quite quickly there its now 2.1 that's only on a few minutes.

Only cold heavey rain here 2.5 degrees I don't think I'm ever going to see lying snow until January.

No snow at all I'm disappointed but not surprised.

Another wet and windy night out there I hope the constant Atlantic weather stops again soon.

Sitting in work tonight it sounded like there was some strong gusts but the window of the room I'm in is relatively sheltered so it's hard to tell. It's a nursing home which has 2 wings either side so it's kind of H shaped and I'm on the inside of the H near the middle there's lots of trees too which shelter us too.

I too am looking forward to this cruises results. I used data from rapid for uni assignments a couple of years ago to plot up graphs and graphics on erdas imagine. I wish I still had access to it though I doubt I'd remember how to work it. I remember struggling with it at the time but I would like to have a play witness data from this year's cruise across the cold pool there's a few things I'd like to have a poke around at.

Was a windy night it was hard to judge the wind in work though plenty of heavy rain though the river roe is nearly bursting it's banks. It's a breezy night out there again tonight.

it's been quite blowy up here tonight since the afternoon but not exceptionally so as far as i know not too much rain either.

I think so pom just home and I'm gusting to the high 20s and my anemometer is very sheltered plenty of rain overnight too. It's very dark seems like more rain us likely. I'll have to have a check and see if I have any snow predicted. I only have sleet predicted tomorrow

That's good but it'd be nice to see some snow down here hopefully it actually comes this time.
