Shillitocettwo and General Cluster, with the latter making a very wise decision to make a late change to 3.1c. Seasonal Competition All change at the top 3 General Cluster, Summer18 and nonameweather. Overall Competition The same top 3 as the seasonal Competition.

I think I'll hedge my bets 3.5c and 85mm.

I remember how tricky it was to get a CET under 3.0c and generally that is still the case. So while a cold and dry start to the month seems likely, I think this will be partly offset by more normal conditions for the second half of the month. So 3.5c and 65mm for me.

I was watching the skiing today (Men's Giant Slalom at Santa Caterina) and there really was a massive snowstorm for both runs. Over 1m of snow has fallen over a number of resorts, more especially in Italy. (with freezing levels ranging from 1500m to 2000m) Hopefully much of this snow will form a base for when the pistes do reopen at various times over the Alps.

Overall Some movement in the Top 5. Man With Beard 5th from joint 3rd. Don 4th from joint 3rd. Stationary Front 3rd from 2nd. Seasonal A bit of a turnaround with davehsug winning after being 13th last month. Mr Maunder rose to 2nd from 8th with sundog 3rd from 2nd. Previous leader Man With Beard came in a very respectable 5th. It would have been even more of a convincing win for davehsug if it wasn't for the 5pt penalty this month.

Monthly Three players got it spot on this month. syed2878, Duncan McAlister and davehsug Only 9 players got within 0.5c, much lower than most recent months.

Some moderate to high snowfall totals possible for the South Eastern parts of the Alps towards next weekend. 850Hpa temps around 0c.

I am just compiling the results of the November CET and noticed queries about the rules of the CET part of the competition. Entries received before the final day of the previous month have no penalty points. i.e. for December, by 2359 on the 30th November. Entries received on the 1st December (or 1st day of competition) month have a 5 point penalty. Entries received on the 2nd December (or 2nd day of competition) month have a 10 point penalty. Entries received on the 3rd December (or 3rd day of competition) month have a 15 point penalty. You are allowed to make a late entry in any situation, whether or not you have previously entered. However as Roger has said below, it is only worth changing your entry if you think newer charts make your previous entry significantly out.

As we move into Mid November, still looking pretty mild of much of mainland Europe with a mild Tropical Maratime airmass. However some moderate snowfalls expected in Western Scandinavia (25-50cm) Wednesday and especially Thursday).

A very nice bank holiday weekend with temps of 19c Sunday and Monday. Abundant warm sunshine both days. 18c on Saturday with some sunny spells. (Makes a change from much of August)

The hottest day of this year here today 31.9c in Morriston and even 29.5c in Mumbles Weather Station. So for Mumbles the first time I can remember the hottest day being recorded as 30c.
