  1. I can confirm it is snowing flat out in Crumlin. Large flakes to, ground just to wet at minute.
  2. Small patches of pink showing on radar.......going to be an enjoyable afternoon and evening......hopefully
  3. Contain yourselves for another 24hrs (maybe even 20hrs) then keep an eye on the radar, but most importantly.......the nearest lamppost. Potential is there for a few inches from tomorrow afternoon right through to early Saturday in places but the forecasts switching about show how hard it is to predict right down to 0hrs I’m strangely looking forward to the 18z pub run this evening, hoping Sunday slider is slightly more north than 12z and straight over the roof of the house
  4. Beat me to it, looking good but mountain?
  5. Things getting pushed further south and west on the 6z, could benefit those down south as the colder air mass diggers deeper that direction. The slider talked about on the MT could give heavy snow falls from galway north when it meets the cold air mass.
  6. I'm with you mountain, best I've seen for a few years. GFS showing 'potential' from thursday evening right through to sunday. Max temps of 5 degrees through next week also, lovely festive weather.
  7. 18z still looking good this evening, pink's spreading further down into the south, so looks like a large area could get a suprise fall......hoping so anyway.
  8. Me to frosty, looking forward to nowcasting and tracking the radar. Being north and west (outside Belfast) we could do quite well in some of the heavier showers......i personally would be happy with a covering to make it feel somewhat festive this year. Lets get the cold in and see where we go from there.
  9. Temp isn't everything, alot of other factors combined for snow to fall. If it was temp related it would be easy and forecasters would have it bang on every time. Snow is hard to forecast a few hours out never mind 48hrs +, hence automated forecasts changing and flipping. Best bet is to keep an eye on the radar and on here. The folk on the forum give great updates, especially the bunch around the north and west as they always get the most I find the model thread a great place to learn to be able to go off myself and look at charts and see if the pink colour is over my back garden.
  10. Me to Ronan, anything more's a bonus. I think the excitement is in watching the models, the radar and then seeing the first few flakes fall to give a covering.
  11. MetO Update Between 00:05 Fri 8th and 18:00 Sat 9th Snow showers are expected to become increasingly frequent over northern Scotland late on Thursday and are expected across many other parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and western England on Friday. 2-5 cm of snow is likely for some, with 10-20 cm possible over high ground, mainly Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Icy surfaces are also likely to be an additional hazard, especially overnight. Strong northwest winds may cause drifting of the snow in places with blizzard conditions possible at times across northern Scotland. The heaviest and most frequent of the snow showers will progressively
  12. I've purchased the shift for my snow shovel, tomorrow I will purchase the blade, or maybe even this afternoon
  13. If GFS to be believed, Friday could be the start of a really interesting period where just about anywhere could see some of the white stuff over the next week or so.
  14. Having looked over a few charts I can see why north and south split, but depends how far south. Its going to windy from the WNW so showers should push through fairly quickly, the showers should also be heavy favouring southern areas to at least see something. As always with this set up, north does best.
  15. Plenty of opportunity on Friday for us to see the white stuff and into the weekend......plenty of time for upgrades also, we'll not mention or think about downgrades.
  16. Us across the water will take this all day long.....we’ve started polishing the sledges already things still look interesting this weekend and hopefully upgrades over next few days
  17. Thursday evening into Friday still looking interesting. North and West looks best at present, if winds are favourable and precipitation lasts we could all get a good covering. Snow sledge polishing today folks Been a while since I saw this forecast for my location also
  18. Friday looking like a day to take off work, MT in good tune as alluded to above. Charts looking good for weekend coming, with a bit of luck we’ll see some of the white stuff Edit:- just had a look at metO forecast for tomorrow and noticed double snow symbols for Friday. I appreciate automated.....but gave a wee buzz all the same
  19. Maybe buy the handle for a snow shovel on Tuesday if charts continue to show good signs sperrin?
  20. Such a waste all the snow falling in the Atlantic still looking good for end of next week, but i’m not allowing my hopes to get up yet
  21. GFS looking good for Thursday as the guys mention above, if it’s there come Tuesday and metO come on board then my excitement level will rise quite considerably.
  22. I think the problem is everyone is looking for the holy grail scenario, 2010 keeps getting mentioned and compared to and although I for one would love it again, its a 1 in 100 year event. The cold this year we have experienced so far has, for me, made it feel like winter, along with the falls of snow in certain areas. The model forum is getting to much for me now.
  23. Think we would all bank these.....proper winter weather.....proper order
  24. I see pom’s back garden getting another pasting
  25. Oh yes it is, oh no it ain't, oh yes it is, oh no it ain't......
