  1. Reports from @Evening thunder of heavy snow and hail just east of Axminster, not enough for me to drive there though, it's gone back to rain now.
  2. Looks like snow falling to my NNE now, it may just go east but not sure, shame I can't get in it.
  3. Very convective skies here today. I'm not sure what planet @Evening thunder's on. LOL. Anyway, looks like we may see some showers later on today possibly giving hail, sleet and/or snow.
  4. Can't see anything thundery coming out of this, the drops are quite big but the rain is just light, currently.
  5. The sky has been unstable all day here, still think thunder is a low risk but we will see.
  6. Hmm, this is interesting. There's Altocumulus Castellanus cloud embedded in that Cirrus cloud, not sure why? Quite a bit more now piling in from the south, very interesting. I certainly won't be surprised if any rain that moves in through tomorrow night and Friday contains thunder. I've been advised that this is due to the warm 850's plume coming up from the south and to add to it a very pleasant and warm evening, oh it's like July 2014 all over again!
  7. There's a lovely sky here this evening! You can see the scud cloud being lit up by the sunset on my Nest cam live stream! https://video.nest.com/live/Atmiip
  8. It's been a lovely day here with scattered Towering Cumulus cloud during the afternoon. The sea breeze which started during the early afternoon is still present here.
  9. You're so right there. I've had to build my confidence over the past months and the only way to do it is gradually!
  10. Very dry air here. I'm surprised that there are showers present in Devon!
  11. Lots of small heavy downpours have developed to my south west now, quite surprising really!
  12. A few heavy showers have now developed over Dartmoor, quite a surprise to say how much cloud is around.
  13. BREAKING NEWS! The UK is experiencing more lightning strikes than France!
  14. Mid level instability has just exploded to the south here! https://video.nest.com/live/Atmiip Altocumulus Castellanus and Altocumulus Undulatus cloud now starting to form!
  15. All of a sudden, the low cloud breaks to leave an unstable looking sky!
  16. Hello everyone, looks like East Anglia is getting their fair share of thunderstorm this afternoon! I bet @Greenday is happy! There's a band now moving in from the south which has some rather intense echoes on it, whether or not it will electrify is another story, but unlikely. Even so, this rain could be quite intense and could cause some localised flooding, some thunder would be nice though! Also, another time to watch is early on tomorrow morning as the area of low pressure passes just to the west of here. There could well be some slow moving, heavy and thundery showers through the morning!
  17. Looks good, unfortunately we have a thundery rain band coming up for the south tomorrow afternoon so convection here will be very limited, I'm hoping we get some thunder from the rain band that moves in later on tomorrow! Does anyone think there's a chance for me?
