  1. Filthy weather this aft! But there was a window of a few hours where i managed to walk the dog and do my usual moorland run.
  2. Really frigid temperatures overnight. I run a bakery, the ovens are loaded and it's -6/-7 outside. A really hard frost, really beautiful. The weather has been superb the last few days, a little snow and plenty of sunshine and very cold. Perfect! Hopefully a little snow in The Pennines tonight/tomorrow, but we'll see what we get. I'm flagging a race in Mytholmroyd later, so I know it'll be tough getting the flags in the ground later.
  3. A nice dusting of snow overnight, stuck to all surfaces with a hard frost from earlier in the night.
  4. Very windy here this afternoon, the rain was ok. Power cut for 1hr and now we’re under a real deluge of rain. Pennine life is tough at the moment, sandbags back out.
  5. Here in the Pennines close to Halifax and Hebden Bridge we have had long spells of rain since Sunday night now. It seems that there may of been a gap overnight. It’s been really miserable with what feels like 1 day out of 7 without rain. Hopefully we can get some high pressure soon!
  6. Heavy snow showers on and off today, it only stuck at home first thing with a light covering on the tops. I walked the dogs on the tops this aft above 400m in heavy snow with some settling albeit only temporary again.
  7. Morning all, we have light snow outside at the moment after all that rain. It isn’t settling unsurprisingly
  8. I think the folk of West Yorkshire near to Halifax & Huddersfield would disagree! We have had a good winter in terms of snow….we’re now having the worst of it with all this wind and rain today, it’s been awful!
  9. We had light snow for a while yesterday afternoon, then heavy until i last looked out at 9pm with a temp of 0.7c….I’ve just got up now, wind direction changed and dry and now it’s 4.6c The snow has been great fun, the drifting spectacular as often seems to be the case with these March snowfalls. Lets see what Tuesday may bring!
  10. Nice and snowy up here, less so lower down. Maybe 3-4 inches, so not loads but it won’t turn to sleet/rain higher up. Enjoy!
  11. We usually do well in the South Pennines with the snow and it seems we’re going to get lots of it tomorrow! Perfect! (So long as i can deliver my bread)
  12. Well we are currently having some drizzle with the odd wet flake in there and now some light hail, nothing on the radar but with low cloud we often get drizzle in the South Pennines. Lets see what we get this week, but we usually do ok if we get the precipitation.
  13. I don’t post much here, but I do read what’s going on. Close to Ripponden in the South Pennines we have had snow laying since last Tuesday, it’s all pretty much melted today. We had good drifting on the moors and reasonable coverage with little melt in the valley bottoms. Not bad so far, nearly 2 weeks of laying snow overall!
  14. Marginally, much of a muchness. More specifically, the south pennines always does well out of snowy weather….we also often get the worst of the rain though. And fyi, West Yorkshire is a county whereas you and I know that the Peak District covers several counties including West Yorkshire
