  1. Unfortunately the storms which anchored to the east of Mallorca yesterday and overnight caused flash floods and a burst river leading to several fatalities http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-45807978 A sobering reminder of the power of some of these large storm systems. British couple washed away in a taxi along with the driver
  2. Watching that monster system flashing away to our NE from our terrace. I think it may even be splitting and a new cell developing and inching toward Alcudia? Fantastic to watch the flashes on the horizon but there’s mountains between us and the sea, and haven’t heard actual thunder from it for hours now. On satellite the storm’s top appears to have blown all the way over into Biscay - it’s huge!!! Fingers crossed there’s still a chance it’ll head closer this way before the night is over...
  3. Update: my portable storm shield is in full effect so far - storms all around but nowhere close The plus point being it’s warm and sunny with some beautiful big fuffy-topped cumulus straddling the peaks of the mountains around us. And we have frogs - does that mean thunder ?
  4. In the north of Mallorca and there’s a fantastic forecast for storms here today - if it happens will be my first storm for about 3 months... woohoo!
  5. What’s the convective potential of Sunday? so far this summer it’s been appalling for the south - was hoping the warm seas would prove themselves on occasions like this...
  6. Also you probably wouldn’t call people who chase tornadoes / supercell storms ‘brave’. Balls like tractor wheels? Yes. Wreckless? Absolutely... but not ‘brave’.
  7. Serious storms developing in association with that Biscay trough. I’ve read that there is a marginal chance it will get as far as south-eastern counties - but nobody’s hanging their hat on it enough to put out a forecast
  8. Wednesday could help break this boring thunderless 2 month period for our area. Let’s hope GFS gets properly on board over the next 48 hours...
  9. Next time yall do a storm warning - just put “Kings Lynn.” - save us all the trouble of radar watching. Meh.
  10. Our region isn’t supposed to be in with a proper chance until later this evening. But you never know could go either way...
  11. UKWW risk diminished overnight on account of a slower approach of the forcing mech for the SE - but on the flip CW has shifted the lower portion of the slight risk zone upwards over our area and reckon there’s a slightly greater risk Don't know whether to be excited or not
  12. The weather is definately changeingnfor the better - convectively speaking - but it’s was still mainly pulse storms today - hoping for something more organised on Sunday - and I also won’t be stuck at work
