Have Thursday and Friday off - was an event that got cancelled - so if this materialises i’ll be loading up on Ribena, mini sausage rolls, peanuts, baby bell cheese and a bottle of golden ale on weds night... ???
It’s been grey across Surrey Hills, Thames valley and up into north London all day (I know this because I’ve had to drive everywhere) but my question is:
• will this affect our chances later?
I like your outlook - well worth taking on board the general reluctance to suggest anything significant - but a potential night like this can be very enjoyable if Synoptics play out right...
Best bit is that we don’t have to endure rain until much later in the night - and it being a Friday i’d like to enjoy being out and about without getting soaked!
It’s been tantalisingly close but all I got was soaking wet ?
Looking forward to the summer season anyway. Will be hunting down those storms where I can!
I’ll use the right thread this time ... ?
Hoping this gets closer as night draws in but not holding my breath - it’s been cold, generally overcast and windy today so I don’t think much energy will be available for anything too sparky:
Am in Palma, and watching how that Biscay low might affect the severity of the rain we’re forecast for tomo. Hoping for a few strikes, but sod’s law says the U.K. will probably have more... ?
I would say - it’s doing that thing that happened last time - forecast says it’ll die off and over time it’s doing just that.
Remember last time with Beast pt 1 - the big blob moving up from France over the channel - kept petering out at it hit the south coast uk? Well I think there’s something at play - maybe dry air - that’s creating a ‘block’ and killing off all the ppn we’re seeing drifting in from the east.
I sincerely hope not - but some realism has to be accepted - this isn’t anything more than gentle showers now for the SE...
Saw two foxes earlier on wandering the woods behind our house - they came down into the adjacent garden for a bit. Looked like they were loving the snow - one was climbing through the bushes and getting covered in it ?
Is this good weather for foxes? Shouldn’t they be asleep?
It’s starting to look good overhead now - lots of milky layers beginning to streak the sky and those little blotty bits of acas starting to show up
Expecting mostly heavy showers from this, but a few little flashes as it gets dark would be great! ?
That low in the channel seems to be steering the precip our way too...?
