  1. I’ve ended up sauntering as far as Lewes but I dunno I can be bothered to go much further east. Gonna have a pint and see how things work out in the next hour
  2. I think it’s the sheer number of opportunities we’re being presented with over the upcoming weeks that’s getting people excited, not necessarily the finer details
  3. It all sounds too good to be true But back to the here and now - my car thermometer is reading 25° and I see clouds bubbling up Defo feels like there could be a storm. Gonna drive 20mins to my west towards Horsham, have a coffee/do some work somewhere around there and wait and see what happens...
  4. Timelapse of yesterday’s SE London cell as it passed over Epsom / Leatherhead way
  5. Is this elevated convection safe from nocturnal cooling? Or is it likely to peter out completely by midnight?
  6. Schoolboy error - went to the hills near farncombe and got a lovely timelpse of the CBS rolling past then realised i’d basically missed the storm that was sliding across the east of Surrey. jumped in the van but only managed to see the two last bolts over cranleigh and the whole thing shut off after that. if I’d have got there moments earlier might have caught something... At least plenty more chances to come - need to free up space on my phone anyway!
  7. Just saw a big CC across the sky over Winchester. cell seems to have died though. Let’s hope something else starts up in behind it!
  8. Kingsclere - I watched an awesome storm from there about 2 years ago
  9. Defo looks stormy across south London now - that threatening haze u get
  10. Could be that high level stuff that evaporates on the way down? Virga I think. (dunno if that shows up on radar, and not sure the conditions are right to support it)
  11. Got 360° view atm but the glass on these windows is quite dirty (London air) so visibility isn’t great. what I can see is high level murky cloud so from a convective viewpoint I don’t think London will do perticularly well out of this today
  12. I am up a well known pointy tower in London until about 3pm today - then I have my van parked at Woking from where I can chase for a couple of hours. Then it’s all eyes to the south east overnight for some patchy chances of electrical showers from the continent. Not bad chances for the first day of a potentially exciting week of weather!
  13. Not expecting anything of note but some electrified showers later perhaps?
  14. Looking interesting for tonight with those storms over Holland at the moment and specks of high level cloud appearing overhead
  15. Several sources I’ve seen suggest this week to be potentially convectively active - though mainly confined to the south and usually in the afternoon / evening period. Netweather itself mentioned it in their main forecast today.
  16. Hope so - the weather is lovely and sunny but do we really have to wait 3 months between every storm event?
  17. Yeah I do see that, although one sferic appeared on Blitzortung - could be a false strike as no precip for that area on the radar
