Glad everyone else got a good show. Sorry but I just can’t get over how unfortunate today has been for our area. I can’t afgord to spend another day chasing this weekend really. Feel like I wasted today now and it was my only real shot this weekend to get out there and enjoy it -
Are we the only people who missed out completely in the south? The ingredients are all there and literally storms everywhere else. It just isn’t making sense. Still raining. Really nothing to write home about from what I’ve seen and I’ve been driving about all over the place. Storms too quick, too random and too elevated.

Absolutely useless day for storms frankly. Just look the whole of the area from Brighton up towards Wokingham barely been touched. we just got rain. Plus all the cells so elevated it’s just sheet lightning in the distance. Chances running out now - started the week with about 6 opportunities and squandered about 4 now. Really disappointed

It was always going to be messy convection - was hoping the storms would fire first, but I’ve watched cells collapsing for a couple of hours now. Holding out for something to kick this all into gear before 10pm...

Okay the channel has rain showers, but i’m Failing to see how we will get a 4 hour night time storm from this. i’m going to huff off to a pub and find a pint...

If that was the case this isn’t anything like a lot of the forecasts I saw. Nothings happened or indeed is currently happening in the channel at all

Isn’t there supposed to be some sort of destabilisation in the channel at some point? Or is it all down to that franch storm now? This has better hit the central south otherwise what was the point of it being hot and humid all day

It’s all as bad as it can get at the moment for me. Storms too fast initiating overhead and going in the wrong direction

Surely it’s the destabilisation of the channel that will be breeding storms for the central south?

Studying satellite and it looks like the airmass over central France is moving more N / NW. Think that trend is occurring to the east too. Reckon Solent and hants will get a direct hit later on

I think it should die down to approx 15km/h but I don’t know if that’s still fast or not

Clouds all burning off as they get near Berks. Think this could work as an advantage as you’ll be able to see the storms tracking up a bit better later (provided they fire). Think I’m gonna move further south now though, daytime SB potential seems to be on the wane

This really is a loaded gun situation isn’t it Enough of an inversion to keep things held down but a huge amount of insolation to keep piping that energy into the system. I really do expect we will see something rather significant this evening and overnight
