  1. Morning all! Currently 3.0c here and dry with the sky brightening. Happy Birthday to Callie today. I don't plan to do much today, other than be a domestic goddess.
  2. We got to leave the hospital today at 3pm. And we then proceeded to have the most horrendous journey home up the A1, until we got to Welwyn. I drove between 55-60mph as one, there was so much water on the road, and two, I needed to dry carefully for my daughter. But the water on the road was so scary. I had lorries passing me in the outside line driving through huge puddles that sprayed over the roof of my car and left me for a few seconds with no vision whatsoever, it was like driving into a swimming pool. I never want to go through that again. Thankfully it was dryer the further north we got, but you would think vehicles would slow for the conditions on the road. I can now report that we have a temp of 5.6c. Wind speed is currently around 20mph but we had a max today of 54mph.
  3. We're going home today after a 15 night stay! Woohoo!. My daughter has had a 2 stage Scoliosis correction with Anterior Release, Costoplasty and Posterior Instrumental Fusion, with a 98% correction. I hope we can get out of Stanmore and home before the bad weather hits. I'm so excited. I'm going to be able to look at my weather station again.
  4. Just had some weather here. Heavy hailstone shower at around 9:15am. The most exciting thing to happen today, I'm sure. Have a good day all, whatever you are doing.
  5. This is the Net Weather Forum With a special Regional Thread And if you were to visit You would never get to bed All of the other threads here Have info and are quite diverse You can talk about the weather Or even how to wash your clothes Then one flamin' wintertime There wasn't one snowflake But this special regional thread Was so alive and awake The other threads searched for winter It was a crazy mentality But the best regional thread Is the best in history
  6. Evening all! Just wanted to send my thoughts to BJ and Sussex Jules, it's tough dealing with sick family. And Katie I hope you get the break you clearly desperately need. So, it's going to rain tomorrow, with gale force winds. I hope you all have absolutely nothing to do tomorrow except stay indoors and chill until this wild and windy Ruth has gone on her way.
  7. The water levels have just risen. Thank you AS and Kerry for your very kind words and for making me cry.
  8. Hi everyone. I'm in Stanmore, Middx and have been since 27 January. My daughter has had 2 spinal operations at the RNOH here and both were successful, I'm pleased to report, but the recovery is a long and dusty road. I went out today for the first time in over a week and realised it's been raining. I haven't even had the news on, (full on Doctor who for 10 days so far) and I didn't realise how bad it is/was/will be. I hope everyone is safe and well. Funny how the first view of the weather, reminded me of this place.
  9. Morning all. It's damp and dreary here in Stevenage. Temp 2.4c and raining. Hope you all have a good day today, whatever you are doing.
  10. Hasn't stopped raining since I posted this morning. I need to take the dog out sometime in the next 2 hours, so thought I'd check for updates here, and look at the radar on Rain Today. Who'd have thought a dog walk would need such strategic planning.
  11. Good morning all! Had a great time in London yesterday, even getting caught out in that squall yesterday didn't dampen the day. Today is dry at the moment and 4.3c. Going to make the most of that this morning then cooking a roast beef dinner. Hope you all have a good Sunday.
  12. Morning all! 7.7c here and dry. Just starting to get light, and 'looks' okay. I'm off up to London this afternoon to meet some friends for lunch and a potter and then theatre in the evening. Really looking forward to it. Have a good day everyone, whatever you are doing.
  13. I love the reminiscing stories on here. It does bring back an era long gone, but not forgotten. I especially concur with the power of music to evoke old memories and instantly take you back. Today it is currently 3.2c. Not much happening today. I may bake a cake. Happy Birthday today to Whitespike. Have a great Friday everyone, and don't work too hard.
  14. I loved that recollection CK. Only a little before my time, but I love to hear stories of how people coped. It makes me appreciate how lucky we are and really how much we all feline foot around when there is a bit of snow. Lol, clearly I can't type puss-y here.
  15. Morning all. Dry and cold outside here today. Temp 3.6c and it's promising to be bright once daylight breaks. Have a good day, everyone.
  16. Yes we have them here. I've probably seen them three or four times in the last 12mths, so not common but about.
  17. I'm in the lead with Zilch. But close behind is AS with Nowt. Jax has Sod all, but doesn't want to brag about it.
  18. Morning all! It's been raining here but isn't currently. I know this because I opened the back door to let the dog out and the cat in, and then the cat out and the dog in. And then the dog out and the cat stayed out....gonna be one of 'those' days. Currently 5.7c which is quite warm compared to recently. Today consists of visiting Asda and the dentist to pick up my bite guard. So beware until I get it fitted.
  19. Thank you John. I'll keep tabs on it with you and try not to nag for updates too often.
  20. Good news JennyJane about SM, you must be so relieved. John, what's your opinion on Mon 27th if you don't mind me asking? I need to travel safely down the A1M that day.
