  1. I've been following the events of the tidal surge and resulting floods. Thanks to all those here posting info and keeping us up to date. We mustn't forget the wildlife too, though. I'm very sad to read this: http://www.greatyarmouthmercury.co.uk/news/hundreds_of_seal_pups_at_horsey_washed_away_and_feared_dead_after_tidal_surge_hit_norfolk_coast_1_3085242?utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=twitterfeed
  2. On the school run about 3:15pm, caught in squally wind and intense downpour. On the opposite side of the road to what I was driving, a tree came down, straight across the road. It caught a car underneath but luckily across the bonnet so no-one was hurt. It's blocked the whole road though and as it's a dual carriageway with barriers down the central reservation there is a tailback forming already.
  3. Thank you for that warning Coast. We have family at Dersingham and Snettisham. I don't think they will be affected, but it's good to have the warning.
  4. Morning all. A high of 5.3c here at the moment, but did have a soft frost on the car this morning. Been out to walk the dog, and there is a bit of a breeze out there, coming from a westerly direction Have a good day all, whatever you are doing.
  5. Morning all! This made me laugh. https://twitter.com/GlennyRodge/status/142574115264532480
  6. Good Luck Matt. I'm sure you'll be great, but first days are always daunting.
  7. Afternoon all. I'm stuffed from the first Christmas dinner this season that my sister-in-law cooked. Yum. 7.3c here and it was dark and cold for the dog walk.
  8. Morning all! Temp rising to 6.0c already here this morning. Off to my brother's house for Sunday lunch today. I so love it when I don't have to cook. Have a good day all, whatever you are doing.
  9. I am now rather concerned that my hubby jokingly said he'd buy me a new hoover for Christmas. I hope he was joking!!! It is a chilly 4.3c here this evening. But cosy inside.
  10. Aww Pepper was an adorable puppy. We have grey dross here too. But at least it's mild.
  11. So sorry to hear your sad news BJ. It sounds like he had a wonderful life with a very loving family.
  12. Morning all. Weekly food shop in Asda was accompanied by Christmas music today. Did a couple of jete's down the aisle in accompaniment. It is dull and dry here too with the temp currently at 9.6c. A veritable heatwave it seems. Hope you are all having a good day.
  13. Hi all and thanks for the good wishes. I was a beautiful sunny trip into and out of London and didn't really feel cold at all. The pre-op assessment went well, except for my daughter fainting when they tried to take bloods, which they failed miserably at, and which will have to be attempted again at a later date. Just got to wait for the operation date which will be done at Stanmore. I can now settle down and relax and study all things weather related.
  14. Morning all! It's a lovely 1.1c here this morning and it's brightening up outside. I didn't have a very good night last night either. Up to the big smoke today to take daughter for her pre-med at the Royal Orthapaedic Hospital. Once that's over, I'll be tired as hell.
  15. Lovely pics Coast. Which reminds me that I took a picture of a rainbow on Saturday. Must upload it here.
  16. Morning CK, morning all! Had a great Doctor Who weekend myself despite a couple of mishaps at the Excel Centre. Today we have a temp of 4.1c and it's dark with a promising glow to the east. Have a good Monday everyone.
  17. Me too. I'm watching at the cinema tonight then up to Excel tomorrow. Sorry the group meetup really wasn't a contender this weekend.
  18. Morning all! A chilly 2.7c here this morning. I could have sworn it read 3 point something earlier. The temp must be dropping. :o Have a good day, whatever you are doing!
