  1. Exactly Nov13 I remember my car was parked in direct Sun and it was at 27oC but temp was only 21oC just shows how you can't rely on these things as accurate.
  2. You're right on there CatchMyDrift, stuck in work lol. My boss is convinced it's only going to be sleet and one of the guys said it was 4oC on the drive in and won't snow it's too warm!
  3. Rain to heavy flake snow for a bit there in Paisley. Seemed to be back and forth between rain/sleet/snow, but the snow flakes were quite big and very wet snow. Not sure if any will stick unless it stays on a bit longer.
  4. Watched a shower there and it was a bit sleety, could see rain and a mix of snowflakes in it. Amazing watching the big curtains of precip coming up the Clyde.
  5. A bit of rain this morning but I know that's to come through. I don't know how cold it is out there but the house is pretty nippy this morning, probably mainly the wind cooling things down and our leaky windows!
  6. Thinks it's just a case of wait and see now. Judging by the weather warnings etc. it looks like this probably won't start cranking up mid-afternoon onwards into evening, and possibly into Thursday morning. Just raining a bit here just now. Felt a wee bit colder in the breeze when I was out earlier on. Not sure if it will be pre-rain, meaning it won't lie so good but och can speculate till the cows come home. Just wish it was Friday tomorrow not got to sit in damn work and look out at the stuff! Nobody in the work wants snow - where's your inner child I ask - i'm like well what do you want rain? get a grip Step away from the charts!
  7. Will check forecast tomorrow and then decide to ditch car or not and take train to work - not trying to drive up hill in that again!
  8. What are the black lines with the triangles and the half circles if you don't mind me asking? I think I vaguely remember we done something like this in geography but you can tell I wasn't paying attention! Would I be right in saying I also see (+) or similar symbols between the upward pointing semi-circles at bottom left dark line?
  9. Ohh you're just at the right height for proper snow 125m,!
  10. Lets all email the met and tell them to stop tempting fate ! I'll believe it when I see it! I think what one forecaster said was we need to concentrate on getting the cold set up first before even thinking about snow. Like getting flour, sugar, eggs and a beater before even thinking about licking the bowl! And heres's my attempt at sounding semi-pro lol - is there agreement from all the models?
  11. It's a total rinse and repeat again
  12. Ohh we'll pay for this - 10 years of repeat 2013/14 winters!
  13. Well after rain yesterday, which was actually welcome as it washed away all that depressing week old looking snow and all the grit, today it seems back to kind of wintry showers, although more over high ground but still cold, the car rooftops had an icy looking slush on them. I slipped and fell a dillion this morning on black ice on the driveway, hope no one seen it. Careful now!
  14. Second that - lets see you grit that then council!
  15. Yup it does seem to be fizzling out over there. Ireland thread saying it's sleety and patchy.
  16. Same here. Frozen washer on drivers side, both wipers frozen in the arc of the lower windscreen (Depsite me ruffling them up before drive) so when they came up they just floated over the water and grit on the flatter upper section of screen. Also ten mins almost to get lock unfrozen this morning despite putting a load of oil in it the other day. Tip: lighter and heat key metal then progressively tease key in.
  17. Precip seems to be taking an age to get here, been hanging about in the West coast for about the last 2 hours - cmon ye muppet till if a see yer snaw! Think it's knocking boots with the cold air and canny make it's mind up where to go.
  18. Got a nice bit of winter Sun today. It was warm in the face but that was about it, wasn't really having an effect on the surrounding temps.
  19. Hoping it's kind of inbetween patchy and full on but not too full on for it to ram the cold out the way and turn to rain but heavy enough to give a bit of a covering - ohh who am I kidding 10" lol! In all seriousness this Winter has been a good improvement on the last even though we've still not had that much snow and it pished down for the first half of it, the rain wasn't constant and the snow did make a good few appearance with some heavy albeit brief dumps. could easily have been a rinse and repeat of last year and then I think I would have emigrated. In fact the way it is now is exactly how it was here in 2010/11, cold with frozen snow cover.
  20. Just checking traffic scotland looks like nowt for the Weegies but N, E and central progged to get a covering as well as South Scotland - enjoy you lucky sods! https://trafficscotland.org/weather/index.aspx?regionid=1&selected=12597
  21. Very light snow shower there - funny as there wasn't any clouds directly above just to the SW so maybe from passing through.
  22. Neither here - of course the roads are slushy, cars have been driving over it, people walking in pavements etc., and salt has been spread on many roads - shame! It's all frozen now and has been all day. Anybody know windy wilson?
  23. Some really light snow showers falling here, like so light it's like fairy dust (or horrors of horrors pre-rain! but far too cold I think) but looking at raintoday.co.uk looks like some stuff going through South Scotland and also a bit further North of Clyde. Vary orange looking over Dumbartonshire West/North Glasgow area - prob just snow light reflection to cloud.
  24. Report from the night owl! Well today when I was at work in Paisley and some of the colleagues (formerly known as 'guys I work with') had calls from significant others (or similar) that down the Clyde way it was teeming down big style so I was pretty desperate to leave (not due to snow, just being in work!) and at 5 to 4 it started really coming down there, so got to the train, got off at the port and went to pub. During said pubish endeavours there was a couple of snowfalls, one about 6 ish that was pretty intense and about an hour long. After that zilcho but headed hame (just half an hour ago) and the snow was frozen and seen what looked like a shower coming in. So it did start very light snow but in the end it came to nothing however I looked at the radar there and it seems there's some wee guys runnin in from the Atlantico, lets see what happens! Over and out.....
