Hard to tell what is coming down, still looks like rain but splodgy as if about to turn sleety, although to me doesn't feel cold enough yet. Glasgow Airport Weather station showing 3oC and dew point 2 so not quite there yet I would think. Airport forecast showing 2oC and rain all night - UGGHH!

MO weather matrix went from high likely to 2nd bottom unlikely but up one for impact. They also inserted a line "some places will see very little" What's going on?

Tuesday looks like the day if anything is going to happen, MO got me with a 2 snowflake symbol now, rather than one snow and one lousy rain symbol!.

Chief Forecaster MO for Strathy mon-wed quite upbeat with a "very likely" right at the top of the probability matrix for all 3 days, never seen that high or for that length of time before on MO, impact 2 blocks up: Snow showers will be heaviest and most frequent across western Scotland. The largest accumulations of snow will be over high ground with over 10 cm building up above 200 metres. At low levels, accumulations of the order 2-5 cm will be more typical. Showers will also be accompanied by hail and lightning at times, particularly across northern and western Scotland. Here in particular there is potential for disruption to power supplies from frequent lightning strikes. Strong winds are also expected, with the potential for temporary blizzard conditions and drifting of lying snow, particularly over high ground. Actual details for my own area seem Plss poor though! Maybe get some thunder to wake me up at 3AM again lol

Ditto here in West, rain as the starter then copious amounts of ice-cream as north and south go straight to dessert, with a steaming pile of muck served slap bang in the middle as the main course!

Missed snow AGAIN lol i should stay put. Been in renfrewshire and inverclyde at xmas till other day, as soon as i do visiting in lanarkshire, where they had snow, and i missed that too, it misses here and hits the west of country ?

Been slowly turning to snow on the back edge now pure snow but looking at radar for how much longer?

Defo something in that aggy, i watch with amazement when snow forecast it seems to literally disipate as soon as it hits just west of me or the clouds split. Some goes north, the rest goes south. I haven't seen one flake, not one in this whole washout. Mind you i'm glad, i don't like cold really for too long, at least a bit of snow makes it worthwhile.

That is low, I have seen it snow here and I get into town and it is raining. I'd prefer to be 150m + really as that is where the snow seems to get a much better chance.

Only thing worse is if it snows then rains & melts that's a snow hangover!

Kinda suspected west central scotland snow shield wasny gonni let us down and how right i was, got hehaw apart from about 3 flakes overnight. Cold clear and no sign of any precip for immediate future, mind you at least it's not 5oC and pishin!
