  1. Very quick rain shower in town, surprisingly some coverage in town in certain bits where traffic is light. Awful in car park yesterday, which is on an incline, guy got stuck on wednesday, car slid down and rested on another car, sheet ice, a woman done same yesterday, tried to help no luck. Now again a transit flat bed is stuck, the guy pointed nose down the hill and couldn't reverse back. Funnist thing though, my car started sliding from parking space. Ihad to wedge piles of snow under front wheels to stop it moving, and happened to car next to me, it slid about 4,feet out.
  2. Graupely snow stuff, tipping it down, roads white again etc.
  3. Seen that on Raintoday.co.uk, looks like it skirted slightly North of here and I got about 10 mins graupel from it
  4. Had a wee bit more graupel there, don't know where all this snow is coming from everyone reporting, radar looks guff.
  5. Just use reverse psychology (say I cant wait, i bet there will be lots of snow) - always works !
  6. Heavy wet snow shower there and sky looks quite promising around about. Not sure it would lie even if we had a lot of showers, mind you there is a skin of ice on everything, bar roads and grass, like car roofs and the like, so maybe get a wee covering if tonight is rinse repeat of Tuesday. Meant to be using the M74 tomorrow night - shall I take my sleeping bag?
  7. Everyone in my work moan when it's going to snow, just because they might be inconvenienced!
  8. Laughing at the met o warning: After clearance of overnight rain and snow in the south of the area, we are back to the regime of clear or sunny spells and wintry showers. For one reason or another, ice is likely to pose a hazard across some areas this morning. Additionally, a further few cm of snow is likely across some of the high ground in western Scotland. Well far be it from me to tell the MO why ice might pose a hazard? On an aside, got a full snow warning for tomorrow from midnight till about 9AM for here, and then sporadic through the day. I will believe it when I see it though!
  9. Some precip now here, seems like "almost rain" lol, or is that sleet. Can see bits in it, not very heavy.
  10. Agree, doesn't appear to be best conditions for it, 3oC and dew point 1 and can hear dripping outside meaning we have some sort of thaw.
  11. Snowed earlier and a kind of rainy sleety shower passed there, nothing to write home about. This is the bit i hate, snow hangover!
  12. They are quick enough to clear snow I'm sure they know we like it and they are just spoiling our fun!
  13. I have purposely not looked at radars tonight in case I seen a snow shield lol, just enjoy whatever comes along!
  14. Another wee video of one of the earlier mini-blizzards, just had another blast there, seemed even more intense this time! Snow 2
  15. According to Traffic Scotland no point in going anywhere near the M74, or anywhere for that matter: https://twitter.com/trafficscotland http://trafficscotland.org/index.aspx Police Scotland are advising drivers that there is a HIGH RISK OF DISRUPTION FOR ROAD JOURNEYS in the Dumfries and Galloway, Scottish Borders, West Lothian, Falkirk, South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire, South lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire, North Lanarkshire, and Glasgow areas. If you do travel, you are likely to experience significant delays.
  16. Here's a wee vid of the snow, sorry about side on style! Snow video
  17. Was a good few heavy showers in town today but nothing to write home about, however by after 3pm it was starting to stay on longer and get heavier. Decided to leave at 4pm to get on the road before the chaos started. The road was very slippy so I had a few hills to contend with on the way home. Managed to get in and it was absolutely piling it down. Then just as I was standing in kitchen on phone, seen a flash, woohoo thundersnow, never really heard the thunder so must have been a bit away. Hopefully more to come as sky is absolutely black.
  18. Covering overnight, so here is my pic, driveway dry as sheltered but can see on pavement! Snow
  19. Hope it gets a bit more lively tomorrow and following days, which MO warnings seem better than tonight's, stating more persistent heavy snow. These showers aint going to cut the ice here pardon the pun!
