  1. Does having an amber and a yellow warning at same time not equal a red warning lol
  2. My garage roof has a funny wave pattern along it from the intense wind and drifting last night, pretty neat, also there is a deep drift about a foot or more round the front of the garage just out and to the left of the door.
  3. Same here, was a heavy flurry this morning but didny last long. Must admit landscape looks amazing with the sun beaming down, although still quite cloudy.
  4. My folks stay in Inverclyde, they are telling me the levels on top of cars is about 2 feet, and it looks like the cars are all merging into one line!. I think people near the Clyde have done even better than places like Renfrewshire/Paisley where I am. Hard to actually gauge what we have here, would say about a foot going by across the street's hedge. Amazing to see the Beast stretching right over towards the US and then being sucked up into a Greenland high! https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=3.26,34.04,298

  6. Looks like the Beast is paying off for us Westies this time lol!
  7. Just went a quick walk in it round the block - sheesh - like bloody arctic blizzard, could hardly see in front of me!
  8. We only got away since a red warning was issued however my other half is off today and tomorrow as schools are shut (she is a teacher before anyone gets worried about that statement )
  9. Epic snow here so far, best I've seen since 2010 I think, only goes off for 5-10 mins then a 20-30 min blizzard. I just got home from work, luckily only 10 mins drive through town. Must be about 7 or 8 inch lying here, more on the hedges.. My 4 door car looks like a racing hatchback as the snow has been drifting over the front to the back and filling up the bit between bootlid and back window so it is now a smooth bank of snow.
  10. All told to go home now due to red warning, woopee snow day ?
  11. Drove through from lanarkshire this morning, that was fun, my car heater matrix had froze and temp guage all over the shop. Got to glasgow end of m74 and held for about 30 mins crawling, then at paisley turn off slow again. Was a blizzard when i got to about braehead. Even in town about 6 inch lying. Looking forward to tryin to get home the night. Office is empty lol.
  12. Had a very light dusting overnight, can still see the individual flakes lying on the ground
  13. That's the snow shield being pushed out of the way! Was on the sauce, slept in and got caught out by the beast!
  14. MO warning always confusing. On the page where I have my location it's got amber warning for Wednesday, then when you click on it there is only a yellow warning for my area, although it does say Glasgow/Bishopton for Amber warning, but amber only covers Glasgow, not Bishopton area. I'm actually in Paisley and no idea how I got Bishopton, but it's only about 2 miles away and I think that is where the official MO weather station is. Call me pedantic!
  15. Few flakes falling today in town, but sky was partially cloudly - dark fluffy clouds - and a wee heavier spell for a couple of minutes when I was heading home. Nothing spectacular.
  16. There is, my cape got blown up a bit there and it was raw in the bones type of cold!
  17. The warning line is literally running over the roof of my house lol, hope the MO have underestimated the reach if it! https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings#?region=st&date=2018-02-27&regionType=area Plenty of juicy amber warnings as well though - all waiting to be downgraded
