  1. Its been a blustery day...the radar is showing some juicy showers streaming in from the west with a little bit of cold mixed in.

The temp here is showing 3.1 deg/C during the showers and the cloud temp is -2.5 deg/C so its going in the right direction, who knows we might even see a flake or two of the white stuff.

  2. I really don't understand the daft thread...they have more ups and downs than a junkie on heroin, their next weather fix is always two weeks away and when it all flips and collapses this results in a extinction level mass suicide event that even an SNP MSP can't compete with when someone finds out where they've stashed all the money.

I'am just dissapointed that the Christmas period has once again been a complete let down after the forecast that offered a bit of snow over the weekend has now mild pish written all over it, I'am convinced the models are calculated on a 16K ZX-Spectrum (we won't have any of that 48K rubbish) probably after someone crashed the Cray XC40 mining bit coin.

Ah the Weather you've got to love it...Merry Christmas to all and have a very good day on Sunday.

  3. A quite incredible +13 deg/C at around midday, almost t-shirt weather, with clearing skys late in the afternoon.

    The current conditions...

    Air temp +5.6 deg/C

    Ground temp -3.5 deg/C

Cloud temp....clear sky, amazing to think just the other day the same conditions and we had a hard frost.

If anyone's interested...on Sunday I took a few temperature readings of the clouds as the mild air pushed in.

A huge energy displacement when you think about it...amazing stuff the weather.

    09:45 -20 deg/C

    13:30 -3.7 deg/C  (snow started shortly after)

    23:55 +2.3 deg/C

  4. Everyone...the snow pictures are stunning, thanks for posting them.

The charts for today look marginal for snow around here but you never know we might get a flake or two, but tomorrow is showing 13 deg/C that is one hell of a temerature swing in 24hrs there's going to be a lot of water released in the melt.

Gritter drivers would have had to have been up from a couple of hours earlier than you to make any difference to the roads. Would you get out of bed at that time for council pay?

What is it with folk? You seem to think that every one else has to work harder than you and for less pay. Don't think so.

The council knowing the forecast would have gritters out laying salt on the roads before the snow fell, then plough and spread salt on the main roads to keep them open, I knew a gritter driver he worked during the night to prepeare the roads for the morning commute.

Several mild winters...council bean counters...cost saving less gritters...less overtime to pay  vs helping people get around...no brainer what would happen.

Tomorrow looks like a mixed bag for us here, according to the Beeb weather its to start with snow showers then turn to sleety pish, the Met forecast is even worse its starting with sleety pish and turning to rain...what happened to all the cold..???

  7. Loving the snow pictures everyone...the Beeb forecast for around here was away off in fantasy land, it was showing a few hours of sleet/snow PM yesterday and not a single flake fell, however its been a bloody cold one today in the shade it remained below zero all day, a nice crisp day for putting up Christmas lights.

Could this be the breakdown for the cold weather its from the 15 day tend video from the Beeb...when it comes to mild damp pish they are usually spot on.

    Current conditions...

    Air temp -2.1 deg/C

    Ground temp -8.8 deg/C

Cloud temp - clear sky (deep space mega cold)

  8. Medium to heavy rain and 10deg/C here for the past few hours...the Beeb forecast saying its to be nice tomorrow and Monday, fingers crossed for some sunshine.

A couple of days ago one of the 10 day outlook's mentioned this up coming cold spell, they did go on to say if it happens don't expect deep cold as the continent is still relatively warm, so what are the mad bunch over on the daft thread looking at.

  9. Its winter time again and here we go...the daft thread is on suicide watch for the inevitable downgrade on that stonking Dec10th run.

Current weather...pishing down, except there sounds like ice hitting the windows, I just had a look outside and sure enough wee bits of ice on the doorstep.

The first wintry precipitation of the season, I think we have had only one frost so far as well...here's to a long cold winter.
