  1. Looks like there could possibly, maybe, some outside chance of some action here in Salop later this week then. Then again..........it could be a case of
  2. Just arrived back from a BBQ with some friends (with typical BBQ weather), and there is a very big moon in the sky tonight. Very atmospheric, very "Hound of The Baskervilles" look to it.
  3. The air quality out there is bloody lovely at the moment. Driving home and coming over the top of Red Hill on the A5, the view to the South Shropshire Hills was stunning
  4. Got back from the food fair at RAF Cosford at about 15:30, and we decided to light the fire in the lounge!
  5. A great day for the garden, pots, and baskets. I can almost hear their squeals of delight. I don't mind the rain either, TBH. Got some decent boots and a brolly for out and about. I don't expect to be wearing my wax jacket in bloody July, though. Jebus it's chilly
  6. Aye, the way that Northern edge of the front is moving it looks good for Salop! If it sounds odd that I'm looking forward to some meaningful rain, bear in mind we've had fvck all to interest us in Telford for weeks. Even the storms of the 1st & 3rd passed us by, and my right arm is akin to Popeye's from watering all the baskets and plants!
  7. Looking at the radar, we may get some meaningful rain here in Telford tomorrow. Some weather that is actually doing something. Even my lawn out back has been bored shyteless lately; I mowed it two weeks ago, and it's hardly grown!
  8. For storm lovers, that is picture postcard stuff! Bloody lovely.
  9. Looks like something interesting is developing in the Celtic Sea West of Pembrokeshire.....
  10. Got bored of fabulous at the age of nine. Swiftly moved on marvelloussnessness, and currently awesome Swiftly moving on......
  11. Very interesting cloudscapes here, no mid-level clag, and very humid. It feels like it could produce something later........
  12. Turned very muggy indeed out there. Looking at the radar, there seems to be a squall line brewing in the SW heading NE towards the Midlands.......
  13. Amazing. Looking at the radar, it seemed as if there was some decent rain coming in for the garden and baskets. But, no. As its heading East over Snowdonia, it's splitting North and South as it gets to Salop.
  14. Just got in from walking the dog, and it is very breezy indeed. Lots of interesting cloud formations about as well that look threatening, but are producing nowt
  15. Adventurous! Appleton Estate with Coke Zero here (boring, but I can't get away from Appleton's as a regular snifter). Looking at the radar, storms seem to be a busted flush here so maybe I should be tucking in to some Woods' 100 to really drown my sorrows.........
  16. Just looking at the radar, and something wicked is developing Hereford way and moving NNE! <crossesfingersandtoes>
  17. Hi, guys. Quick question : how does one embed a video - say - from YouTube into a post? I've tried everything, but no joy. TIA
  18. My take on tomorrow for the Midlands :- <guesswork>Had lots of rain here this afternoon which has saturated the ground. A late sunny evening did nothing to evaporate the moisture, and has been on the cool side. Friday dawns sunny with a cool atmosphere, and starts to eke out the moisture from the ground, whilst during the afternoon hot and humid air from the South adds to the moisture, By late afternoon, a trough and frontal system trigger convection. Storms ensue.</guesswork> This report has been brought to you courtesy of Appleton Estate rum with its partner, Coke Zero. Please hold. Your call is important to us........
  19. Nick F's synposis of thunderstorm birth is very good, and - at the moment - we have some potential. Mositure = check Heat = check Fronts into plumes = check Troughs = check Instability = ? Currenlyeyelikeit.
  20. I'll be the first to admit that I'm new to NW and the various models like GEM / GFS / ECM and such like, but I like to think I've got a fairly decent handle on UKMO surface pressure charts as they've been - for a number of years - the first thing I look at when I get to the office of a morning. For the last three days, it's been consistent. By Wed we have a LP West of Ireland, and a HP over the North Sea which - to me - means the hot and humid air from the continent will be pulled North over the UK. I fully expect heatwave conditions for at least two days, and with the Atlantic LP flinging fronts across us West to East (not to mention the trough forecasted on Wed on a line from Dorset to Staffordshire) I would expect fireworks in the West. Of course, other opinions are available / your mileage may vary etc etc, but I'd prep the BBQ kit for Wed
