It really is shaping up to be a proper old school cold spell, into the semi reliable now too.
I remember many occasions growing up, my parents had a loft conversion, so I was able to open up one of the skylights to track the incoming snow showers from the North. Never ground breaking amounts, generally ranging from 1 to 4 inches but it was proper snow so to speak.
My last really good memory before 2010 was the early 2000's, not sure of the exact date, I must have been about 21 at the time and remember a couple of brilliant days where showers just kept piling in. I'm sensing something like that could occur in about a weeks time, we'll see. Long overdue that's for sure, if conditions are right then the Wirral can actually do very well. An unstable northerly that isn't transient is probably our best setup. I would imagine the same for you too?
