Yeh mate, they already look like merging together now out west, definately growing in size and strength. Big one just to the north of us, I may miss it however you may get it. Let me know what falls, cheers.

I will take this forecast from the met for the north west any day! We are all in with a shout... This Evening and Tonight:A windy night with frequent snow showers pushing in from the Irish Sea giving accumulations to lower levels in places and more widely over higher ground. Clearer spells will allow frost and icy stretches to develop, especially away from coasts. Minimum Temperature 0C

Also to add the cold spell now is showing signs of prolonging and further snow is expected. As I was saying the setup is pretty rare and the flow is an unstable one hence more surprises may crop up. For example this from the Met for Sunday: Periods of enhanced snowfall are possible within this general flow but details of these are very uncertain at this time.As such this alert is likely to be updated and refined in the coming days to better represent individual features. The last frame of the ECM indicating MAYBE a prolongling of the scold spell.

Hi, Well I'm more confident now of even seeing some temporary accumulations even on the coast, after the initial rain this morning, followed quickly by hail/sleet showers, we then had a few light snow showers that whistled through. Showers really starting to rattle in now from the west, most places will see some snow by the morning now I feel even on the coast, that wind out there is bitter!

Quick one from before work. Radar looks very tasty, plenty of heavy showers ready to pack in, watch them turn more wintry as day wears on. Outlook looks excellent too.
