    Yes we never do too well whatever the setup, near the coast, city centre, no elevation, protection from welsh hills and pennines, all in all crap! lol. However I feel this cold spell is our best chance of the winter..

    Hi C.S, I think as the winds gradually veer round we will then come in to play, I too expect the warning zone to expand/upgrade.

    Morning guys, well the charts for our neck of the woods still look good this morn, now backed up by the met. Even unlucky merseyside outside of the initial warning zone I feel may still get a snow surprise this time around. This north westerly is the best of the winter so far.

    Feel free to move mods but thought I'd post this in a busy thread. Britain's most extreme weather is on More 4 at 9.10pm tonight, it's all about the winter of 62/63. Was first aired last year I think. Just thought people in here would be interested if they didn't already know.

    Great run from the ecm, plenty to be happy about for our region, and eventually even the one's near the coast... The wait may may well be worth it.

    Well so far the ecm from 96 onward is pretty good for our region, come on lets have a doooozy cold spell with plenty of heavy snow showers rattling through!!!!

    Starting to look a bit messy but at least the azores is still way out west, anyways it's 168hrs an will prob change again by tmr. Still good though.

    Yes mate the best looking cold shot of the winter coming up I hope. With more people seeing snow, the feed this time around is a stronger looking north to north westerly flow so a few nice troughs may pop up to make many people happy.

    Even us on the coast should do ok this time if charts like this verify, and not too far off at 108hrs!

    Hi Nick, new in here. Surely the cold enough uppers with follow though if the predicted pattern can set in long enough which hopefully it can this time. This looks our best shot of the winter I think.
