  1. Well the pub run is a forecasters nightmare!!
  2. Snow is notoriously difficult to predict in this country, so the met office are rightly being cautious at this stage. I think they would rather be in a position to expand or upgrade the warnings rather than dive in feet first too early and plaster the uk with silly yellow and amber alerts.
  3. This is just and early warning, and is nothing like the last cold spell we had. I would be surprised if these warnings (provided the trend doesn't wane) do not upgrade and/or expand nearer the time. There may also be further chances after weds/thurs. This is a completely different setup.
  4. Nice to see the jet doing this though for us coldies instead of it blasting right through with crappy wind & rain
  5. I know I hope we get something that last more than 5 mins for once. More optimistic this time.
  6. 6" 1991, sent home from school early then had couple days off, quite rare on the Wirral! We are normally protected by the Pennines but yeah was a good snowy spell for many.
  7. I wouldn't worry too much about specifics of the countryfile/beeb forecasts at the min. 3+ days is a long way away when snow is involved, at least the trend is still looking good. Most of us nutters will still prob still be doing this on wed night...
  8. People can't be moaning over the uppers in this frame
  9. Yes many other factors involved C.S as explained by SK in the MOD thread. I think we will all see some snow at some point.
  10. Good to see things edging ever closer and not downgrading
  11. Met Office Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday, North West:Largely cloudy Tuesday with patchy rain. Becoming windier later with rain pushing south overnight. Colder on Wednesday and Thursday with strong to gale force northwesterly winds bringing frequent snow showers.
  12. From the met office outlook Friday onward: It will likely turn even colder through the weekend with sleet and snow showers, frequent across northern parts, with overnight frost and ice. Strong northerly winds, with gales in places, will accentuate the cold with a significant wind chill.
  13. Just looking round the threads while things are quiet. Everytime I have checked West Lothians weather cam there seems to be snow on the ground this winter, is this the norm for guys or is it just a good snowy winter with all the north westerlies we've had? Is it a sweet spot so to speak?
