  1. The wind has turned up, but as per usual the closer we get to the event, the further away the rain gets. Was meant to arrive at 6pm, now 8pm with the percentage reducing as we go. Desperate for some rain here.
  2. Strong memories of this one. A bolt struck a house in the next street and set it on fire. It sounded like a bomb went off. Car alarms were going crazy. We went around the house turning every plug socket off after that. Love a storm but would not care to repeat that one!
  3. Here we go, every hour we move forward the forecast moves the snow another hour away. Every blinking time.
  4. Why do I feel like we're still just going to England up with cold rain in South East Essex?
  5. I'm sure there was a year semi-recently that we had snow in October.
  6. Largely typical of our luck for the last 10 years. We're always 1 ingredient short and always 10 days away.
  7. Here is my very (very very) Unscientific 2 point thesis on why this winter is going to be cold and snowy. 1) Spring felt spring like, summer felt summery, autumn has been very autumnal, so... winter is going to winter. 2) If ever we were due a 'Winter of Discontent' it's 2020. I'm sure there will be no disputing my findings on this.
  8. It is an odd one. It looks odds on for an absolute washout with 50mph winds, but if the initial track does shift northwards, then those wind speeds will head northwards too.
  9. The best season of the year is here. Lots of wind and rain interspersed with sun and frost please.
  10. Our backgarden is flooded in Southend. Just had to go out in it to move the poor rabbit up on to the grass. Soaked through.
  11. Our backgarden is flooded in Southend. Just had to go out in it to move the poor rabbit up on to the grass. Soaked through in about 15 seconds. Never seen anything like it. It's given the guttering a good clean, mind.
  12. I'm a complete amateur so forgive a potentially stupid question; Low pressure obviously = wind, so presumably even if the rain breaks up it's going to get pretty blowy?
  13. Probably not the best source, but Weather.com has it weakening and breaking up. Where have you seen this? https://weather.com/en-GB/weather/radar/interactive/l/7098a375566c7ef866c47b438cf934c8bdc9b1168753073dca50d177f72ed047?par=samsung_widget&temp=c
  14. Watching Chelmsford and other areas on the News, I'm not sure this is one to be hoped for. It missed me (Southend) by about 10 miles and after being gutted at first, I am now pretty grateful.
  15. Had a decent 20 minutes, now sliding north. Shame but better than nothing.
  16. Just when I had given up it comes rolling in. It's our turn in South Essex.
