  1. I agree!! Maybe not at our altitude but the point was the further North the shorter the spell and the less intense, there is a bit of the country between us and Scotland remember!
  2. Yes brief.....Plus you your still missing the point that was made, further North the shorter the warm spell. That was all i was saying. Nothing incorrect about that mate.
  3. You missed the point totally, further North, shorter lived. The models show it clearly.
  4. Take care in this weather mate, It will certainly be the worse spell i fear this year now. Some folk just can't grasp what effect heat can have.
  5. A truly awful start to Autumn, sadly i'm working in the South most of next week, conditions look terrible, not looking forward to it at all. My mood has really darkened, the sooner we have seasonal weather and this vile crap has gone the better. Its going to be a long tough week, temps will be in the mid 40's in some of the sites i will be in.
  6. Canada, central Pacific, South America, Mediterranean, North America, Central Asia.....all had record braking events. Heat records broken everywhere, over dramatic? No not at all.
  7. Suspect you don't take much notice of a thing called .....News
  8. I for one have been very grateful for this Summer, whilst the World has burnt, countless damage done to the wildlife and livelihoods of so many, lives lost on a scale i fear will only get worse, our little Island was spared the misery. I know not to everyone's taste but i am very happy we didn't have to go through what so many thousand's have done. It must have been horrific.
  9. Think i'm about par with you then, may be slightly higher but not by anything noticeable. Normally its about 3c colder where i am at least than city centre.
  10. I'm quite high up at Grenoside so the temps are always lower that Sheffield is shown at....hopefully!
  11. Thankfully not looking to bad for this "heatwave", max 25c in my area so just about bearable, plus shorter days so not to much to worry about.
  12. Low 20's only, may be nudging 23/24 but that is max
  13. Thankfully any heat will be further South, much more comfortable conditions the further North you are.
  14. We all can be weird at times, your Asperger's will probably mean your far more intelligent than many of us on here! (i certainly include myself). I work with 2 guys with the same syndrome, they run rings round me on tech issues. I look it as a gift not a issue in anyway.
  15. I posted it was sunny in sheffield, you disagreed.......do you just click disagree when you see my name?
  16. Where about where you in Sheffield today? You must have been to disagree.
  17. Sunny, clear, warm, perfect summers day in Sheffield.
  18. That was mainly climate driven in the Scottish highlands, roughly 2000Bc when the change really accelerated.
  19. i totally agree. Extremes kill. Fact. I'm not "going down a route", just stating the facts.
  20. I was referring to the widespread effect, 72000+ extra deaths across Europe
  21. Its that middle bit....June-August. Worst widespread heatwave in decades
  22. It certainly would not! One of the deadliest on record
  23. Thats me...like a bad smell you know may turn up!
