  1. First thunderstorm of the year here earlier today around 4:30/5ish, half a dozen rumbles with 1 visible flash accompanied by a decent downpour with hail, which some stones were approaching pea size.
  2. I'm pretty sure i seen some very weak rotation in the clouds here too, hardly noticeable though, just the very slightest circular motion but no funnel.
  3. I'm not sure, i first started taking notice in January when NOAA said it was outperforming the official forecast and actual counts are stronger than predicted, but whether or not they said anything before then I'm not sure.
  4. I don't know if this has already been mentioned on this thread but its clear that solar cycle 25 is starting much stronger and much earlier than forecast. Any idea's what could be causing this? Some say it could be "something happening" in space that's making the sun active much earlier than the forecast. Some also say its likely we could see a huge flare somewhere between now and 2025, with some even predicting a Carrington style event or maybe an event that narrowly missed earth back in 2012, but no hard evidence on that. Certainly some odd behaviour though. Solar Cycle Progression | NOAA / NWS Space Weather Prediction Center WWW.SWPC.NOAA.GOV

  9. Been sleeting here for the past 30 mins, trying it hardest with some large flakes within it at times, heavier precip coming into the West Midlands, could be some evaporative cooling with that with some parts getting some proper wet snow for a little while.
  10. Anyone who wants a good look at the blizzard in the US today, Ryan is doing a 12 hour live stream, definitely worth a watch. Already reports of 10 inches + and thundersnow. He has contact with storms chasers and viewers sending in footage.
  11. Just had the first proper heavy snow shower after a few very light ones earlier. This one was blowing around in the breeze and gave a slight dusting on some surfaces.
