  1. Close to -4 I believe, thought it would of been lower though as the sharpness of the frost is similar to Decembers when we had below -5s.
  2. Only patches of snow left here now, but still very icy where it is. Very frosty already and some light fog starting to develop.
  3. Like others have had, nice surprise seeing another covering this morning in places it melted yesterday.
  4. Heavy snow just ended, just light now but from earlier showers and the recent, its gave around 3cm.
  5. Sods law strikes again with the trough over Ireland, moving SE, but the East end of the band weakens just where we need it but remains heavy over land in Ireland . Hope Cheshire gap can give something more as we go through the night.
  6. Quite a bit more cloud looking to the NW now. That mass that was to the West of Scotland has reached Northern Ireland now and still a decent mass of showers, no circulation anymore but even if we get some of it, a few places will still get a covering. I'm especially watching what happens when it reaches the Irish sea. Promising
  7. Yeah merging more, and getting heavier, more showers coming onshore around Cheshire gap and North Wales now too.
  8. Im keeping an eye on the feature off the West coast of Scotland, looks like some circulation is beginning and its all moving SE/SSE, so hopefully its developing a small low and reaches us tonight.
  9. Yeah a few weak showers around the Cheshire gap, but I'm not expecting anything until tomorrow afternoon/evening, and through Wednesday.
  10. I know but if we manage to fire up those showers from the Cheshire gap tomorrow evening then hopefully the low temps and dew points will get the ground cold enough for them to settle easier. Hard frost tonight too if the skies stay clear.
  11. The cold air has arrived across the region now after those wintery/snow showers earlier. Quite impressive Dew Points.
  12. I remember this event pretty well, waiting with excitement with the Thursday snow, started around late morning and decent accumulations by the end of the day and i thought that was it until at least the Saturday. As other said the forecast was miles out, as the Friday morning i woke to an unexpected forecast of heavy snow, and by midday on the Friday it started to snow again and had hours of heavy snow for the remainder of the day. But then it turned to rain overnight and into Saturday which led to a very wet weekend with melted snow and rain on top of it.
  13. Impressive lows this morning, imagine if we had a thick snow cover, it would of probably got down to -15 or lower.
  14. I cant explain it, but i have have seen this phenomena before too, in the infamous 2010 December spell, blue skies, hardly any cloud but snow falling. Very strange and interesting.
  15. Could be one of the coldest nights of the season so far tonight. Approaching -4 already.
  16. Hopefully the trend for this next cold snap/spell continues as its showing a lot more snow, even significant snow for the region next week than this week. Also keeping an eye on Sunday, even if we get some temporary accumulations before it turns back to rain is better than nothing, especially as it makes it look more festive getting closer to Christmas.
  17. Extremely light snow grains earlier this evening, but nothing now. Also paths are like an ice rink in places.
