Seems to be developing in the Irish sea, that should reach more Western parts, but whether it will be rain/sleet or snow there remains to be seen. -

Looking better for central/some eastern parts of the region later today, the west is a bit more marginal. Arpege still has snow especially for more eastern areas of the region with a narrow part showing as rain for more Western parts. Euro4 show pretty much the same. By 9pm tonight, Arome gives a line of accumulation right through the central midlands and slightly towards the east of the region too. Just as the above charts show, more western areas looking like sleet or rain away from higher ground due to rising DPs but more Central Eastern areas might do well. Lets hope many of us can get a few CMs top up. -

Still a good bit of snow laying here especially on grass, but partly still on roofs, parts of pavements, and edges of side roads. With temps dropping tonight i think its safe to say that its laying longer than a day at least. Hope to get more tomorrow and the parts which stayed as rain get some too. -

Id say around here we have around 5cm on most surfaces but up to 10cm on grassy areas, slushy on the roads now and drip drip everywhere, but what a start to winter even though its not until a few days yet. -

Absolutely stunning, wow!! What a morning so far, and the snow being blown up the windows is a thing i haven't seen since even before 2010. Sky looks full of it, and coming down very heavy again. Also glad we put the decs up yesterday and decorated the window, the scene matches outside now . -

Like others have said a direct hit here in Walsall, seen around a dozen flashes and a decent amount of thunder, and some torrential rail, saw a couple of small hail stones too. The petrichor is lovely.
