  1. Not related to the upcoming possible snow event but came across some flooded roads earlier near Bescot from the torrential rain we had from the convective line that came through and the heavy rain that lasted a good few hours after that, didn't expect it to be quite this wet today. But temperatures starting to fall tonight, feeling a little chillier now.
  2. Got a feeling it might be a touch like last March snow event which turned to rain, although it looks like this time there might be more snow than that event before it turns milder, unless of course it keeps trending further and further south with each run from now on which would keep us colder and snowier for longer but that's a big ask. Should be not far off the mark now being so close to the event but a 50 mile shift North or South still cant be ruled out, even 12 hours prior to it happening. Interesting day or 2 to come before hopefully snowy Nirvana.
  3. A webcam here in the middle of Norway, already looking quite bad there, expecting it to be nothing but white later.
  4. Same here extremely gusty last night, bins toppled, some fences down in other gardens and a single plank ripped of a fence here. Some gusts so strong was rattling the house and sounded like it was gonna put the windows through. Saw what looked like a piece of felt fly past someones garden light. Worst here since 2017/18 too.
  5. Just brought some loose items in from the garden, 60mph would move them around quite a bit. Crazy to think just yesterday morning the last remnants of frost melted but seems a distant memory already.
  6. -6 here now with just below -8 DPs, looking forward to seeing how low temps manage to get overnight .
  7. If we had a decent snow cover, tonight would of easily put the temps below -10, but probably still the coldest night since December 2022.
  8. Yeah same , surprises have happened already so we'll have to wait and see and there are warnings for snow for the north of the region until Thursday so hopefully some of those showers/streamers will make it to more of us after the front.
  9. For us further south, we'll see what happens later as the system passes to the north and a sort of trailing front moves south but fizzling as it does but with a more NW flow rather than WNW following.
  10. One thing is for sure, it's looking more promising than it was a couple days ago when it was looking bone dry, even if its just a few showers and light coverings.
  11. Agreed 100%, who knows may get more Tuesday/Wednesday. Screen shot from a Bloxwich webcam shows the dusting nicely.
  12. Maybe a few flakes getting into the central Midlands shortly, and heavier showers around the gap.
  13. Hopefully, as even a light cover would make it something and would last most of the week.
  14. Been watching these the last few radar scans, not expecting much if anything as they are only light, plus may not be cold enough just yet but maybe something to keep a eye on for later.
  15. Strange weather here, although no lightning. Very strong winds and then it got very wild must of been 55 - 60mph gusts for around a minute or so with some decent sized hail stones, hitting the windows and roof, very loud. Then is all went quieter just with still a gusty wind but no where near as strong and normal showers. The storm in North Wales looked impressive and the severe weather elsewhere too especially with the possible tornado.
  16. Yeah a short burst of hail here too, could hear it hit the roof from inside. Also sounded like it almost put the windows through as the wind got pretty wild with it. Very strange weather. Looks like the lightning stopped as it got to the central midlands and then started again in the East Midlands.
  17. Wow wasn't expecting that, haven't seen or heard anything, could have been some distant flashes but wasn't looking, still some strong echo's on the radar so ill keep a look out as it passes in case it spits out one or two more sparks.
  18. Nice swirl to this system in Ireland earlier and now over Northern England.
  19. After thinking it would be a completely dry and frosty spell, this snow has certainly made the cold spell feel more worth it, and another possibility through Sunday to the North and some more through Sunday Night and Monday for some of us too. Cant help but feel later this month and especially January/February could bring severe cold with deeper snow with MJO and el nino in our favour not to mention other factors too. Snow has stopped here now, but left a decent covering of around 2cm maybe a touch more.
