  1. Lovely down by the water in Salcombe. This shower was over Brixham way when I took the photo.
  2. We are up the top of Salcombe, looking over towards East Portlemouth and beyond and the forked lightning is amazing! One particular crawler as well.
  3. Looking NE from Salcombe is great, couple of anvils on the horizon. The one near Axminster maybe? Pity I can't upload my photo.
  4. Beautiful day in Salcombe, quite the turnaround after the mist this morning! Didn't have my phone on my walk just now, but you can see some decent convection going to the north over Dartmoor and much further east. Also looks ripe for a good storm later on, if not necessarily here then not a million miles away!
  5. Yep! Still raining in Kingsbridge, been raining since midday yesterday. I don't have access to 24 hour radar but seems it didn't stop overnight either! Can well imagine some of the local higher ground areas will have had even more rain.
  6. Yes, you are doing well out to the west! Relentless rain here. Doesn't look like it's going to clear any time soon from the South Hams...
  7. Absolute filth in Kingsbridge! Rained since midday and got heavier as the afternoon has progressed
  8. Interesting development of the clump of showers south of Cornwall and Devon. The southern tail of it has some very intense rainfall, really kicked into gear the past 20min. Some lightning activity too. Impressive to see it spinning its way north and east, quite unusual!
  9. Now a wintry mix of hail/graupel and the very odd flake of snow in Kingsbridge. Thrilling stuff
  10. Yep, radar returns not reflective of situation here in Kingsbridge. Not a flake or drop of rain!
  11. Looking at the wind direction charts and there is a little window of opportunity tonight for those further west. Wind due to become more easterly, which will see a few showers develop in the Channel and move towards southern Devon coasts for example. Met warning for midnight to 11am tomorrow reflects this. On va voir!
  12. For the record, Kingsbridge did indeed have snow. Can of tinned peaches for all important context
  13. Yep! Subtle change in wind direction overnight and showers are forming nicely over the open water and heading in this direction. Only a very, very light dusting on some surfaces here in Kingsbridge, would need to pep up significantly in order to have any impact. But it counts as snow!
  14. Blimey! Can hear relatively constant distant rumbling from that storm SW of Kingsbridge. Interesting skies too...
  15. Yeah it seems it was a very active hour or so! Have to say the wind woke my son up around 12.30, Kingsbridge wasn't that bad but I can remember hearing stuff clattering around outside before he shouted for me. I wasn't all that alert
  16. Morning all! Very windy in KB about midnight here, though nothing terrible. TORRO FB post this morning asking if there had been any reports of severe weather bit further west. One of the showers around midnight had an interesting signature near to Plymouth. Must have been reasonably bad as the click and collect marquee at Sainsbury's Marsh Mills had taken a bit of a battering! Marquee was out of service this morning
  17. Pretty rubbish day in Kingsbridge. Decidedly autumnal at times! Wind is actually gusting quite strongly tonight, we aren't expected to see the worst of Storm Ellen by any means, but certainly a big change from recent times.
  18. Wow, parts of Mid and W Devon getting an absolutely pasting. Quiet as you like daan saaf in Kingsbridge
  19. Constant grumbling thunder now to the west, but Kingsbridge has pretty much escaped in the middle! The way it goes I guess! I can imagine some very bad localised flooding in places not far from here though.
  20. Looking east towards the Start Bay storm. Beautiful sky this morning.
  21. Rumble heard in Kingsbridge! Lovely little storm developed off the coast to the SE of here. Lots of people camping down here at the moment, will certainly be fun for them...
  22. Very convective sky all morning in Kingsbridge. Just the briefest of heavy convective rain drops, and maybe a really distant rumble of thunder? Hey, it's more than we've had for a while!
  23. Skies finally clearing in Kingsbridge. Few sharp showers formed rapidly in the far west of Cornwall. Worth keeping an eye on.
  24. Well there's something of mild interest approaching the South Devon coast. Might get some heavy rain soon. How exciting...!
