  1. We all get it wrong, best is to work on different plans and see what is your strength etc... and one word of advice do NOT focus on models too much, because the best computer you have is your brain... I will say this, models are 50/50 and should be used as a guide, of course some models can make you go blind you know but that's a whole different subject!
  2. I have to say that this is wonderful to have snow, I was started to wonder a few weeks ago if February really would give us the cold spell it looked like and we would have a no snow winter, so very pleased that its come on a Saturday night so I can play with the kids young and old tomorrow on the slopes... pure winter fun that is cheap to enjoy!
  3. Not showing any easterlies on my data? you 100% sure you have an easterly and its not being effected by local disturbance like a house or fence etc...? I do believe you but just not showing in on my data??? so intrigued.
  4. Well the wind has been getting up, I was expecting it to be windy but had not thought it would be as strong, its not causing any issues and will not effect things as they stand apart from blow it about a bit that will cause some issues as it gets deeper. The wind is direct southerly at this time, I would say you have the same in herne bay as you are only 5 miles away. Has this wind caught you out?
  5. Oh yeah I know... I have that to look forward to as well, lovely.... trouble is I wont be in bed until late....
  6. The wind is certainly a factor tonight like a blizzard where I am, a white out earlier..... due to peak at about 25 mph around mid-night and then drop down by mid-morning to 15 mph etc... or put it another way blooming cold in the wind for sledging and snowman building!
  7. The front is due to stall, it is already slowing down on its front edge somewhat, so as it stalls it should intensify somewhat and places like Anglia, Kent, Essex should get a good whack from it. Great that you are learning, the best thing I would say is step back like you have been and just look at the sensible comments and learn gradually, the weather is fun but we are all learning and no system is ever the same, so a lot comes down to gut feelings also running alongside technical knowledge. Hope that waffle helps...
  8. If you are referring to the radar lines... as it tracks round it records the data, if it does not get a clear view then you will get gaps etc... its standard. Is that what you were on about?
  9. How many years have I been doing the weather from amateur to pro to amateur to major storm chaser and still the wife shouts out "you weather geek, put the kettle on next time you pass the kitchen!".... just cant get the wives nowadays!
  10. Yep and remember this stuff is just light stuff although its nice at present... the big show is some way off yet!
  11. At last WHITSTABLE on the Kent Coast now has SNOW, nice flakes, gentle and light as expected.... just the prelude to the big show, but nice its arrived.
  12. Classic.... that will have them all out in Chaversham.... I bet they are in the streets already!
  13. Man fishing on the beach in front of my house.... went down spoke to him, told him that he might want to consider packing up shortly lots of snow on the way... ummm he said dont believe all that rubbish, load of hype... I said is that so, ok well have a nice evening.... oh is that your car down the steep ramp to the beach? Yes he said.... oh I only ask because its my sledge run, might be an idea to move it up.... no he said no need it wont snow... oh I said, ok then bye! Well looks like I will have some fun later watching him!!! :D
  14. I know when I wrote that I thought.... damn, someone will pick that up! was going to edit it but thought what the heck, run with it!
  15. It is possible that Brighton will turn back to snow later this evening, their are some signs this will occur!
  16. It will be here heavy in about 1hr 30 mins or so... you may start to see some flurries in the next 45 mins.... by mid-night you should be starting to get heavy!
  17. If you are living in Kent you will not see heavy snow until certainly later this evening, probably 23:00 hours onwards and then it will be constant, so please stop panicking over the size of the flakes etc... This is extremely normal with a western snow front, it will intensify over the coming hours and really get going big time early hours of the morning!
  18. Yes it was always looking like Brighton would have this, it was on the borderline of my plots this week, so sad you have it for you, but pleased as I got it right
  19. Its just the first band that's past strood, its purely light stuff.... Trust me on this you will get plenty later this evening in Medway. Its like waiting for a hurricane you have to be patient my man... you get bands at the front of systems. Tonight a lot of people are moaning or getting worried or anxious... dont be its going to hit Kent well, it is going exactly the way it should do and will be a significant snow fall for all at ALL levels.
  20. Agreed 100% on this, I think this is just the prelude...
  21. You will be fine until about 9ish... I would say, the start of the snow will be light then gain in intensive as the evening goes on, its possible snow will only arrive between 9 to 11pm in Kent.
  22. Good Morning All, Nice little snow fall last night in the early hours, just a quick grain snow but its white outside which is nice. Just a prelude of the fun to come late tonight!
