Definately more to come, you can be sure of this, we keep on getting a top of snow here in Whitstable every few hours. We have had a lot of dumpings the past 48 hours, in fact last night was incredible blizzards off the sea and fantastic snow fall! Well the wind is gaining in strength here are Whitstable, snow in te air, dark skies out to sea to the east. Last night was an amazing view of teh beach the tide had gone out about 3/4 of a mile and all the sea bed was white... it looked amazing. I am really enjoying this cold spell just wish I did not have 2 broken ribs, but then again to be honest it does mean I keep on getting up through the night because I cant sleep as the pain is so bad and I get to keep a constant weather watch...

Whitstable is very deep now, its been a contstant Kent streamer, its deep powder and a blizzard also on the beach, fantastic snow event tonight, just brilliant.

Just took a measurement and we have had just short of 4" this morning in Whitstable.

SNOW FOR SUNDAY / MONDAY. Some on here are questioning things they are seeing on the BBC, but just to add to this and to support the Francis Wilson, Michael Fish approach here is a model of snow fall on Sunday.

Francis Wilson is by far the most superior forecaster for snow in the UK. I would always place money on him over anyone else, if he says Snow it will Snow. Very cool.... nice to see, and Sunday/Monday should be fun.

I think the BBC in general is sending out a very confusing message. Michael Fish has been spot on with BBC Radio Kent and BBC South East etc... but then he has the experience. I think these young forecasters firstly have not experienced heavy snow like this accros the country, they simply are becoming reactive and not very accurate with short range at all at present. I would rather them just forecast very accurate weather for the day like in the USA than try and forecast 7 days in advance and be far wrong, I also think they have too many broadcasters and shoudl stick to just 3 that can offer some transparency for the public (say Rob, Daniel and another???)! Overall about 6" in total has fallen, but with ice and thawing its holding at about 2.5 to 4" depending where you are in the town.

West, Central and East Kent Quick Discussion: What is everones thoughts on the next 24,48, and 72 hours. It is easy to get carried away with models and snow, but looking at the charts and models I see a few possible outcomes, some very good for snow others not so good, I woudl be interested to read comments on others opinions. Just interesting predicting the future

Have checked the level winds and its twisting nicely and in my opinion becoming very interesting, I am convinced based on live data and NOT charts that its moving further east that the models have shown to date.

Wind increasing at whitstable - now 10mph... I gather grain snow at Ashford now, can see on radar a snow band heading for us and the way this beast behind is twisting and moving I think this COULD come in more to the east than they forecast. Interesting its changing all the time.... <_<

The way I look at it what ever falls tonight, tomorrow and Thursday is bonus snow, because Friday and Saturday looks like its south east's great snow event! I hope so.... <_<

Spot on! Loads of snow over teh next 10 days, will be on and off all over the country and the south east included. Friday or Saturday I think could get snow, it totally depends on how much power the low generates, but the warm sea will give it lots of moisture, I would expect action for sure in the south east. But at the end of the day its cold, its winter and its nnice to finally have a great winter rather than wind and rain!

And that photo I uploaded showed the Oyster beds.... So maybe I will get an Oyster for Lunch or two... Good idea

Been out sledging, snow fight and had fun. Also driven the area, and Whitstable in Kent is the deepest snow and has taken a direct hit compared to others. This is a shot of the sea, and the road by the sea and my view!

Thats it I am off to my cozy bed, then up early to listen to bloody John Warnick on the radio to see if one of my kids has school or not, the other has a day off.... Night night

rrrrr but if you watched the BBC you would have only got it in Ramsgate and Margate, and they have not seen as much. BBC south east tonight with Natalie was a joke, but I bet she will claim it tomorrow, which is total rubbish as she was saying Saturday, no snow Saturday or Sunday and maybe a little on Monday - total rubbish. Well we are due a good freeze over you never know, but I think the low far south will kick in to Europe deliver the snow and may just break up the cold spell as it moves away, BUT then again it may not and the model does suggest it could be a nice long time in a cold spell! Kill off the black widows and stuff that have just started to make home in Kent!

This is just like a Lake Snow Effect (not as grand ofcourse) but same as I have seen in North America - No wind, just warmer water and the cloud just keeps building in front of land and dumping and dumping. Al be it is not massive dumping but the radar just builds and builds close to shore with the warmer sea, is hitting the Kent land and just dumping, like a sprinkler of icing being shaken. Really nice out, just went for walk along beach the waves just lapping the shore and white beaches.... calm and so quiet - very surreal experience!
