Our area of Essex in Thurrock gets overlooked in weather reports. It is snowing and it has been snowing for a while.

I don' think South Ockendon will get snow as the area seems to have an unique climate. Sometimes South Ockendon, gets the weather forecasted for Romford and other times we get the weather forecasted for Southend.

Another cloudy day as it has for the past five days. The last time there was a sunny day was sometime last week.

Today is a fine settled day with some spells of sunshine. The temperature at 09:00 is 3.9 °C and there is no breeze today. Humidity is still high at 98%.

I have a feeling this winter will be colder than the last one but do not know by how much. It could be average temperatures to slightly cooler than average temperatures. There also could be some surprises this winter with some unexpected snow or frost.

It is a horrible dreich day in South Ockendon, overcast sky with humidity at 95%. The temperature may be 9.4 °C but the dampness in the air makes it feel colder.

I do not know if the BBC snow maps cover Thurrock in SW Essex The dew point is getting lower and it is now at -2.6 °C and the apparent temperature is -2.1 °C .

It's getting colder in Thurrock, the temperature now is 2.4 °C and with the wind chill makes it feel more like -0.9 °C . The apparent temperature is -3.0 °C and the -2.9 °C . The wind speed and direction is 7.4mph NNW. I am more likely to wake up to a frosty morning than a snowy one.

Saw a few flakes in Grays today but not much as there was not enough cloud. The temperature now is 3.0 °C , last hour variation -0.2 °C , average temperature 0.8 °C , apparent temperature -0.6 °C and the dew point is -1.7 °C .

It is a very sunny day with scattered clouds and the temperature is 0 °C and the apparent temperature is -2.0 °C . The dew point is 0.1 °C and the humidity is at 78%.
