  1. Thanks for that because I've been struggling to see where this heavy precipitation is coming from. Been looking too far South West.
  2. Had about 8hrs of non settling snow in North Wales. I bet some locations near have had longer.
  3. Probably not for the model thread but judging by todays posts its a temporary free for all: Forgetting the North / South extent of any precipitation what you really don't want in this spell is daytime clearing skies. Some snow cover this morning in Wrexham - quickly melted. Sun felt strong, warm even at 11am. An off-topic post, but something to consider next few days.
  4. Dewpoint important as always tonight, no precipitation here but anyway for me it's gotta be -1c or lower else its sleet or hail. Soon as those dewpoints hit 0c all over. I know its not the only factor but seems to be an important guide.
  5. Horrendous commute along A55 this morning to Wrexham. Lane out at Ruallt Hill due to snow, not 2cm/slush either... Nearly as bad on return, ran into some heavy precipitation, mix of sleet, hail, heavy icy rain, horrible. To drive through!
  6. Remember that one, had to ditch the car in Stockport and walk the rest of way to work!
  7. Anything that is coming out of Ireland is dying in radar but then reinvigorating approaching land. Don't give up yet. Think the Dew Point too high now for me this far west
  8. Big area of what is intermittent but heavy precipitation heading across now, maybe of interest for those in the South of the region.
  9. Heaviest shower of the day just passed through, difficult to tell but think given intensity it was hail. VID_20230117_194548.mp4
  10. Be rain here by the time it arrives - dew point will be above freezing, air temp 2 or 3c
  11. Nah, reckon its over for my location - light snow at the moment and have had more than 10 short snow showers today so can't moan. BUT - dew points are on the rise on the coast at least, maritime modification. Met office has me down for rain. Still, great to get an inch or two full covering. Good luck to everyone else.
  12. Think the wind is veering more westerly it should hit I reckon. The sun has come out here making the cloud heading east / south east look a bit more dramatic
  13. Can't miss the Wirral, surely.. This is looking over from North Wales now
  14. Looks the larger area of precipitation will hit Liverpool East/South Manchester. Had snow showers on and off this morning but think that's largely it now for my coastal location in North Wales.
  15. Just had another 30 minute moderate snow shower, thaw kicking in as soon as sun comes out though
