Absolutely appalling here in Cheshire. Been snowing for 5 hours and it's still not even sticking. Anyone know what's going on?
Had about 8hrs of non settling snow in North Wales. I bet some locations near have had longer.

Probably not for the model thread but judging by todays posts its a temporary free for all:
Forgetting the North / South extent of any precipitation what you really don't want in this spell is daytime clearing skies.
Some snow cover this morning in Wrexham - quickly melted. Sun felt strong, warm even at 11am.
An off-topic post, but something to consider next few days.

Dewpoint important as always tonight, no precipitation here but anyway for me it's gotta be -1c or lower else its sleet or hail. Soon as those dewpoints hit 0c all over.
I know its not the only factor but seems to be an important guide.

Horrendous commute along A55 this morning to Wrexham. Lane out at Ruallt Hill due to snow, not 2cm/slush either... Nearly as bad on return, ran into some heavy precipitation, mix of sleet, hail, heavy icy rain, horrible.
To drive through!

Is it just me or does the radar actually look pretty dead in the Irish Sea?
Anything that is coming out of Ireland is dying in radar but then reinvigorating approaching land. Don't give up yet.
Think the Dew Point too high now for me this far west

It's falling as ice pellets or hail here anyway. I think.

Big area of what is intermittent but heavy precipitation heading across now, maybe of interest for those in the South of the region.

Heaviest shower of the day just passed through, difficult to tell but think given intensity it was hail.

BREAKING NEWS - Latest BBC forecast goes for that snow over northern Ireland to hit Wales over night and into the morning - most of Wales seeing snow - you'll be unlucky if ya don't then
Be rain here by the time it arrives - dew point will be above freezing, air temp 2 or 3c

Less likely for us down south to see any accumulations apart from the odd shower but mid Wales-North Wales could do pretty well by the morning to you guys
Nah, reckon its over for my location - light snow at the moment and have had more than 10 short snow showers today so can't moan.
BUT - dew points are on the rise on the coast at least, maritime modification. Met office has me down for rain.
Still, great to get an inch or two full covering. Good luck to everyone else.

Looks the larger area of precipitation will hit Liverpool East/South Manchester. Had snow showers on and off this morning but think that's largely it now for my coastal location in North Wales.
-
Just had another 30 minute moderate snow shower, thaw kicking in as soon as sun comes out though

Thanks for that because I've been struggling to see where this heavy precipitation is coming from.
Been looking too far South West.
