  1. We arrived in Wheatlands and went out to look at the night sky all stars and no light pollution Here is tour 3 group photo.
  2. There used to be a saying in Arkansas , if you dont like the weather wait around for an hour. This is true on the plains. We stopped off in Phillisburgh Kansas and recconsidered the options and turned around. We are now in Wheatfield , Wyoming and will be heading up to Montana in the morning. There was a live band playing in Phillipsburgh so we stopped to listen.
  3. Heading down towards New Mexico for some action tomorrow, Sunday.. Currently in North Platte, Nebraska. Migth overnight in Liberal or Garden City Kansas. George
  4. Today had a lot to offer but didnt deliver. We had a fantastcic day and chased a lot . The storms were joining togerther prickly quickly. We had a little bit of everything,, except a tornado. We watched the storms developing and moving closer , plenty of CGs. At the end of the chase we sat on a railway line just north of North Platte Nebrsaka to watch the storm as it moved in on the towm. The structure was amazing and the lightning was abosolutely fantastic. I know some of the others took some brilliant shots. I hope they post some later. There was a tornado that lasted about 20 seconds close to where we had sat. However there was so much loing on around our heads , it was all interesting.
  5. Looks like we will get to see sme action today. Large hail and a couple of tornadoes are possible. At the moment it also looks like we are in the right area. Cloud be two areas of activity, one in North Dakota and a later show in Nebraska. With a possible MCS to round the day off. Will updat more in a while. George
  6. As expected the easterly risk is now a little too far east and is out of reach, especially as we need to be in Nebraska /South Dakota area for tomorrow. So we are aiming to stay in North Platt, Nebrask tonight. George
  7. A few photos from yesterday taken by Graham . At the hotel in perry, Oklahoma.
  8. Looked and weather scenario and cant help thing that the easterly option is now a little too far east. Have to think about getting into place for tomorrow which is north. George
  9. Walking back to the hotel before the storm arrives
  10. We met a couple of cops yesterday both really nice. One probably didnt realise the effect he would have on my concentration when after driving over 200 miles he decided to shadow me for a while in the dark. Nice man though. The second cop was the local cop in Perry who stopped in the field with us for a while to watch the incoming storm.
  11. Took a drive from Dallas to Perry in Oklahoma caught a lovely storm which flattered to decieve slightly. Lightning still going on now. George
  12. Update Plans are always made to change and todays have been subject to change with each weather update. We will be setting off north from Dallas once our last guest arrives around 6pm and see how far north we can, maybe pick up something from the MCS if it has more staying power than the models predict.
  13. And as I said things can change it looks at the moment that the 5% tornado risk have now been removed. Still say watch this space.
  14. Early rise. Brains confused about what time it is. Making coffee at 5am. Still in Irving atm Not entirely sure how the day is goiing to pan out. There is a 5% tornado risk which is about 250 miles to our northwest. It is very tempting, however we do have a guest arriving around 6pm and so we will have to come here after the chase. As we know the weather situation can change at the drop of a hat. So watch this space. Chicken George.
  15. I found some photos taken by the team , posted on FaceAche by one of the guests - They were taken by John Finney. Taken 29th May in Colorado. I know there are lots more which John may post on this forum.
  16. Here is a photo of what the team were watching tonight. I think photo was taken by one of the guests.
  17. Watching the team up north this is what they are on
  18. Well we took off from Heathrow and had to bank severely to avoid flying the 747 into a thunderstorm. We be meeting people for dinner at 7.15pm which will be 1.15am. Have already been up since 4am this morning. Its a long day. First problem at motel was I couldnt undo the security lock on my case. After a few attempts i gave up and borrowed a pair of bolt crops from reception. that did the trick, locks useless now though. George Insert other media
  19. Chicken George is setting off today. Flying tomorrow arriving in Dallas tomorrow afternoon. Will be reporting from the plains.
