  1. That awkward moment when you realise that all the time you've been looking at the lampost you've actually been staring right into someone's front room - into people's faces - and only just realised, and you have to act out a whole scenario, pretending you're waiting for someone to arrive at your ouse so they don't think you're some weirdo ...I mean we've all been there I'm sure
  2. Snowing heavily now in Rochester, already a slight dusting on the roads. It's a strange type of snow this powdery stuff isn't it - it's like someone has spilt a massive bag of icing sugar right down our cul-de-sac! Good luck all. It's looking good!
  3. The stop start stop start thing that is the nature with showers does my head in!
  4. Really is incredible watching it all build up in the North Sea; even more showers starting to creep into view now. Fantastic stuff
  5. Your eyes'll be like pee holes in the snow by morning (see what I did there )
  6. That latest METO forecast is much better than the Metogroup BBC, one - a decent mention for snow showers and 'accumulating snow' tonight & then another good mention for us & our amber warning on Tuesday and a 'longer spell of snow' good stuff. As others have said barely a mention on the BBC forecast for us; all of the focus was on other eastern areas and Scotland etc all the time.
  7. I hate to burst your bubble but I *think* that's one of those anoprop thingies as it's gone by the next frame...
  8. Well if you haven't washed yet today then yes I think you probably should before the day's out! Very excited for the next few days - lots of potential!!
  9. I'm done with the mentality of 'even just a cm or two will do - at least it's something' done with all that shizz, well and truly done - I want a big old dumping, and nothing less! Who's with me?
  10. Really hoping for a cm or two tonight to whet my appetite, and then a nice big top up through tomorrow evening and into Tuesday. Chuffed to be in the Amber zone - hope it gets extended as more of us will be in the game! Good luck to all!
  11. Ok thanks - any idea why the old one is still showing on the website & how do I see the new one?
  12. Another Friday post - soz I'm probably looking at the wrong one, but the 6-30 day long range text forecast from the MET Office that I can see on their website, doesn't mention milder/less cold air getting into our region at all? (1st - 10th March) just talk of 'heavy' and 'disruptive' snow on Friday, and thereafter 'likely to remain very cold through early March, with further snow showers in the east and southeast' ??
  13. Interesting that the MET Office are still going for remaining cold with 'Further snow showers in the South and East' into March; it doesn't mention any milder interludes at all. I'm quite new to all this so please forgive me - but if the low does so further South giving us snow, would that keep us in the Easterly pattern, and if so, roughly how long would that be for? Cheers in advance. Looking forward to the rest of the coming week before then though!
  14. Wow. Tomasz's BBC Week ahead forecast was a major RAMP! How many times did he say 'snow' in that forecast - I lost count!! Widespread snow showers all week and then blizzards and 'significant snow' from that low Thursday/Friday...and then MORE snow into the weekend! MOGREPS must be seeing something different. All is good....for now
  15. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is the Aperge model a High Res. model? Snow showers looking very thin on the ground as far as the end of Tuesday; I was under the impression that High Res. models were better at picking up shower activity as a result of convection? I'm still VERY new to all of this, so please forgive me if I'm talking utter rubbish! Excited for this week though!
  16. Sorry a little random, but just wondering - have the BBC switched over to this Metogroup? Only for the first time ever (well it's the first time that I've noticed) the forecast for my area on the Met Office website doesn't match up with the BBC one, and it's normally exactly the same. Plus, they've switched over to new graphics etc as well, so just wondering
  17. I can confirm light snow in Rochester! settling instantly on cars. It's coming guys (for some at least) , hang on in there!
  18. After considerable deliberation with myself, I have come to the conclusion that we have a heavy fine 'snizzle' shower here.
  19. wtf the colours should be the other way around!! I got all excited there for a minute! Looks like I'lll have to face it - mostly likely rain tomorrow or even worse..... *shudders * 'wintry mix'
  20. For a while there this afternoon where I thought we'd get a decent covering, but no such luck. Oh well, at least it was festive to see snow falling outside with the Christmas tree by the window, and we did have a dusting for a time (starting to melt now though) How are things shaping up for tomorrow for our patch - any chance of a bit of the white stuff or is it mostly looking wet and boring?
