  1. Is that a good thing? I thought that the later the precip arrived the better?
  2. Okay, I've been holding back for quite a while now but... I'M SO EXCITED! An end to the snow starvation period! Just needed to let that out. Sorry.
  3. These charts from the GFS look good for most of the region though
  4. No upgrade to Amber from the MET just yet, didn't someone on here say that they'll be considering upgrades around 9pm or something?
  5. If the warning gets upgraded it's probably more to do with the 'event' happening during rush hour as opposed to the upgrade being a reflection on the intensity etc. Still exciting if it happens though
  6. Thanks very much I'm hopeless at reading the charts. I won't disrupt the thread any further now. EDIT: Cheers @Grimsby Snow Lover too
  7. It feels like Christmas Eve, I'm so excited! Calm.
  8. Tomasz must be a 'coldie' that forecast for BBC London was a huge RAMP!
  9. My heavy snow symbols are back! I know it keeps chopping and changing on the app but it's still nice to see! It feels like Christmas Eve I don't know if I'll be able to get to sleep lol!
  10. YES DANIEL!!! Although If you've just jinxed it and it turns out to be a wet mess I'm sure half of this forum will never forgive you lol!
  11. Very well put Needless to say, nothing anyone says is going to influence what happens, so let's just see what happens and let people get exicted if they want to!
  12. GFS 12Z looking good for our corner tomorrow evening, and again early Friday morning.
  13. I'm further south and my symbols have changed from heavy snow to sleet too.
  14. Thank you very much for the link and for the advice @Blessed Weather Wunderground is good, however I think it can be a bit 'dodgy' at times. For instance, last night it was telling me my dew point was -8 at one point, surely that was an error!! Anyway, Thanks again
  15. We have snizzle here now (not sure if that is a proper term or not lol) microscopic flakes just making the ground damp. Temp fluctuating between 3.3 and 3.5c ish. DP 0c.
  16. Precip hasn't arrived here yet, but DP is still -1. Interesting. Temp 3.3c Edit - How reliable is Wunderground.com?
  17. Temp is lower than predicted here 3.7c with a dew point of -1c.
  18. Are the dew points expected to be above freezing tomorrow evening/night? I'm guessing so, have rain forecast
  19. I could be wrong (and probably am) because I have next to no meteorological knowledge, but I think that the 'wintry showers' are possible because although the temperature is quite high, the dew points are fairly low. For instance, it's 7.6C here, but the dew point is just 1C. So I guess any precip here could have a wintry element to it if it were to arrive now. I'm probably speaking rubbish though, thinking I understand it when I don't!
  20. 5C tomorrow brrrr. My snow risk for tomorrow night is now back to 0% chance It's a shame the temperature is predicted to rise as the band pushes through. Any chance we could see a few flakes on the leading edge? Temp predicted to be around 3/4C when it arrives, not sure about dew points.
  21. Haha, you have to be careful, I got caught out a few times last year with people thinking I was looking into their houses!
