  1. OH NOOOOOOO! Thank you Coast - I think I will go and buy a sun lamp! At least we have seen a bit more brightness today than of late. Grrrrr to this blessed greyness
  2. One more day...one more cloudy, gloomy, dreary, depressing, horrible dawn....one day more .......... I really hope!
  3. Thank you Mapantz! From now on I will take the readings from that gauge with a pinch of salt. Will save up for a good one.
  4. This is crazy ... temp gauge reading 23.0c in the sunshine!!! Please tell me if anyone can concur or else tell me to get a new temp gauge
  5. My Temp gauge reads 9.2c!!! The 15+ frogs in our pond are very LOVED up this morning, the birds are active and the sun is shining - A lovely start to the day!
  6. I havn't seen snow fall like this since, dare I say 1978! The snowflakes are sticking together to form huge snowflakes which are now settling in the grass and cars. It is truly a white out! It must be wet snow which sticks together - others in the know might be able to tell me why we have such large flakes right now? I have been snowkissed all over today
  7. Right thats it! I can't do any more work! I am going to run out into this snow and stand there trying to catch a snowflake on my nose with my mouth wide open! I don't care who sees me.
  8. The proper stuff now! Not settling of course - but beautiful all the same.
  9. 2.5c and dropping as I type! Heavy sleet with large snowflakes mixed in. What a surprise! The Snow God is gracious and kind (sometimes) Oh poo! Temp now rising again 2.6c.
  10. Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking. The latest forecast wasn't anything like this at all! Good luck for tomorrow by the way Mapantz. I hope flooding isn't too much of an issue for you!
  11. Good Grief! The power struggles going on in the MOD thread is incredible It seems that some people are more interested in proving themselves 'right' and others 'wrong' instead of describing what they see. I think I will stick to this thread in the future Its blooming cold out here - wind chill must be in the minus but the temp gauge says 10c!
  12. Couldn't find the frogs and Newts thread so I'm posting in here....The frogs woke me up with a glorious frog chorus in the early hours of this morning Love it!!
  13. The temp in the sunshine here is a balmy 16.6c according to our temp gauge!!! Could this be wrong ??
  14. Many thanks for all the replies re - snowing at 4.0c. We are using an out door weather station (it belongs to my husband, so don't know the make etc). It has stopped snowing now but the sky looks heavy temp now dropped to 3.9c
