  1. Yes, it is indeed raining here. Temp is 1.2c - some snow still on the ground but will be quickly washed away now no doubt. I did wonder if the rain will turn to snow later on this evening for our area or perhaps the Nae says 'no' - I havn't had time to check yet.
  2. What a difference 5 miles or so makes! It is -2.4c here in this garden
  3. Its snowing yet again - has been quite heavy but dying off now!
  4. I would like to thank Iceberg for his wisdom and insights! Have to say I think he has been bang on for us here in this neck of the woods
  5. Medium to heavy snow fall once again - at least 4 inches now! Wind chill has been a steady 0.1c since 7.00am.
  6. It is now a mixture of grauple, snizzle, snow and freezing rain. It really hurts your face when the wind blows!!! But its good pain Snow has started to slowly melt underfoot and on roof tops.
  7. Not sure where you are in Wimborne, but here in Cutlers Place the roads havn't been gritted - no cars even driven past as yet. If we are set for this to fall for another few hours how are you going to get home if you get into work? Mind you - not sure when this is all supposed to turn to rain (?)
  8. Blizzard conditions here since 4.10am. We have about 1 inch of snow and its still falling. The Net Weather Radar insists that we have sleet but we most definitely havn't! Queen Elizabeth school closed and I am sure many more around here. I am now getting my snow boots on and getting out there before it turns to rain ...........whooopyyyyyyy!!!!
  9. Thank you for your reply - you are right, it is a difficult situation to forecast, but it does follow what I feared to be true ....swallowing a realism pill as I type.
  10. Its Graupling here ... with tiny snowflakes mixed in. Magic lies in the smallest of things!
  11. I think there is talk of a second shot of snow for us at the end of the Month on the MOD thread. However, it is always next week or tomorrow ... tbh I do my best to take each day as it comes but it never works, I'm always hoping for the promised holy white grail
  12. In our garden there are Daffodils and Bluebells showing their green leaves above the ground. The Robins, Pigeons and Blackbirds are displaying and pairing. The Bay tree has new green leaves and a there are few new sprigs of Lavender opening up. It feels as though Spring has sprung but I am not sure that this is out of synch with last year or not. I think this is a fascinating thread by the way, thanks for posting it
  13. We had a very close lightning strike here early this morning - I have never heard thunder on Christmas day so I thank Thor for his gift
  14. I think its 'steady as she blows' in this neck of the woods. Mind you, still time for there to be an upgrade
  15. Oh Dorsetbred you must be young! Today I wore my hat, scarf and thick coat - I needed it at 9.00am walking on the frost covered grass at Badbury Rings
  16. Just seen a wondering Red Admiral wanting to find a place to hide. I don't blame it !
  17. Looks like it was a sonic boom! http://thewatchers.a...c-boom-time-uk/
  18. Oh yes, a star seems logical to me. Thanks. Why would anyone think it was Nibriu ?
  19. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19683768 Not sure if this footage is what everyone is talking about but if you take a look at it could you please tell me if you can see a small white object moving up and through the fireballs? What do you think the little object could be?
  20. There is so much we don't understand or are likely too lilclairey2012. There is peace in not knowing all the answers
  21. A smiling rainbow! How beautiful, thanks for sharing this.
